It’s 1:36 am and I couldn’t sleep so I wrote a weird bee thing because of having this on my mind. I have finished where I have because I am now starting to get tired. Here’s what I did (I hope you enjoy):
I think we all remember what we were doing on the day that the last surviving Bee died. We remember because of how rapidly the Earth changed. As if saddened, all the natural colour in the world faded. There were no bright flowers or rainbows: there were no beautiful creeks with fresh green grass under a blue sky. When the last Bee died, so did She. So did the world.
Of course, there are still people out there who don’t see the Bees as important and think that this colour loss phenomenon is just something that has happened to coincide with this momentous death. Idiots. They are all idiots, those who believe that. Apparently, there was an old movie that came out a long time ago that showed exactly this event happening. But, 20 years ago, people were only using the film to make jokes. Instead, they should have actually been paying attention to the message it was giving. But it is too late now. There is no “Save The Bees” movement happening in any size or form. There are no Bees to save.
How stupid were we to let this happen? The Bees died and then the colour drained from every living thing. Then the plants started to die… and then the animals. It wasn’t long until the lakes, rivers and oceans were nothing but miles and miles of dead, floating sea creatures. The skies had no birds in them; the zoos had become murder houses that they always were. And She is sad. The Earth is sad. And we are the ones who made Her sad. So She is ridding us the only way that She knows how. Unfortunately, however, that does mean killing all life on her surface. But if there is a god, or if the Mother is in charge of all life after death, I have no doubt that everything that isn’t human or man-made will return in the next cycle.
Imagine: the circumference of the Earth being rough and red like it used to be. Then after many, many years, vegetation starts to grow again. It would take millions of years, maybe even billions, for the Earth to regain Her former glory. But She will. She’ll love again, she’ll laugh again and it’s better off this way. So much better off this way.
But wouldn’t it be better to imagine, even if just for a second, us, as a moronic race, not taking out our not-so-metaphorical death rays? Society is crumbling instead of this fantasy. Even though we know how colours look and what warmth feels like, we see no colour and we do not feel the Sun’s touch on our skin. Pleasure and rhythm and dreams have been taken away. Look into the dawn as a new days rise? We can’t. Like a clock tower being struck by lightning, our system has stopped. Actually, I would say that collapsed is a better verb to describe this shit. I’m losing my mind and my patience with humankind. I’m just glad I’m not one of them. I’m just glad I am the actual final Bee.
You have just learned some new information from me. Information that contradicts some thoughts and intel that you would previously have had from everything before my statement of being a Bee. So what’s up with that? Simply put: I do not know. Something is tipping the balance of life and that something started doing that when the penultimate Bee died. I want to stand in front of a runaway train just to feel alive again because this is all brain hurting and is draining me so much. But, instead of doing that dumbass thing, I am setting out on a sojourn. This is in order to discover the mysterious forces sending the world into meltdown and, with any luck, put a stop to them.
I heard word sometime last year about a group of flowers that had harnessed some dark magick. That is the exact type of lead that I could use; it’s a terrifying group of “innocent flowers” with monstrous abilities that could and would lead to the destruction of everything. Themselves included. Hopefully, they were not killed along with the rest of the plant life. If it is them they should be easy to find. Not considering the fact that I am just a fucking Bee, however. The world is a gargantuan searching ground. It’s a lot to be expected from a creature that physically should be capable of flight, according to all known laws of aerodynamics. So I best get started.
