I have watched fellowship of the ring enough times to not cry to Boromir's death anymore, but not enough times to NOT cry to Frodo reaching out for Sam as he drowns and then they hug each other

Yes the scene with Aragorn opening the doors is great but can we talk about the slow walk to the orcs and taking out his sword after telling Frodo to run at the end of fellowship of the ring

I wish that rather than deeming anakin swagless and awkward, and that, that was how padmé experienced their interactions in AotC, or that force forbid, she found them creepy—people would try to see how padmé actually felt about them and what actually attracted her. more than any flirting, what anakin was doing the whole time was trying to connect to her, and to bring his deep feelings across to her. learning about her, trying to make her smile, relay his honest devotion—it is much more than simple wooing.

that’s why I insist on below adjectives when I talk about anakin in AotC:

he was direct. yes

he was passionate. yes

he was intense. yes

he was honest, earnest, sincere. yes

he was bold, unashamed, fearless. yes

he was respectful and patient. yes

in his endeavour to connect, he did find padmé restraining herself despite her own attraction and that is what comes across in the first half while also conveying that whatever was happening was reeling padmé in more and more. I think that people keep trying to have anakin pass some generic test of swag and flirting when he is not playing on that tangent. he can only be direct and honest about his intentions—with his words, with his eyes, with his actions.
