AMC's Interview with the Vampire S1-2. As someone who found The Vampire Lestat formative at fourteen I have mixed feelings about the new series (although S3E3 was a masterpiece), but IWTV 1-2 really pushes the boundary on depictions of memory-as-horror.

Death Note. I have an essay in me about how L visually represents the NEET generation that was so feared by Japan in the 90s/2000s, vs. Light Yagami's conventional, aspirational life as the site of monstrosity. I have another essay on me in how the Catholic imagery of Mello is relevant to his status as heir in a very specific reference to religious doctrine. I still think about some of the Fanfiction.net novels I read on them.

The Summer Hikaru Died. Masterpiece. Grief as horror. Homophobia as horror. The corrosive, insular nature of small towns. The oppressive heat of Japanese summer as its own functioning character. Came back wrong at its best.

Mysterious Lotus Casebook. What if you died in all the ways that mattered to you, and can never be who you were again? Disability treated with more complexity than I usually see. Reckoning with your past, etc.

Sha Hai/Sand Sea. I will write an essay on why to me this is the best DMBJ adaptation we've gotten so far, I'm just waiting for the captive audience in form of an ask to unleash it.

The Residence. Murder mystery hinging on a charismatic protagonist done at its absolute fucking best.

Rivals. Did you want to live in a fantasy 80s soapland full of terrible rich people? No? Too bad, because I used to read chicklit romance aged twelve and I will not be stopped. Also David Tennant in this is spectacular.

High Potential. Very American episodic crime series based on a French original, and they're trying desperately not to say AUDHD but it's an AUDHD single mom with three kids as the lead, which makes it fascinating to me.
