i mean think about it. there are traditions where odysseus goes to italy and even traditions where he is a co-founder of rome's ancestors. who's to say aeneas ever came out from the underworld? who's to say the wires didn't get crossed? who's to say they didn't switch places?
i mean. nobody recognized odysseus at first when he came home. yeah, yeah, athena's tricks and all- but if she can make odysseus into a beggar then she can make aeneas into odysseus. what side was that scar on? the right leg, right? or maybe the left. 20 years is a long time to remember. and it's not like both stories don't end in violence. aeneas has turnus to kill. no, no, not turnus, this is eurymachus. isn't it? wait, whose house is this? whose people are these? whose rage does he feel in his heart? did he need to kill all these people? did he need to kill the slaves? he must have or else he wouldn't have done it. this is what his dead father told him to do- no, wait, anchises isn't dead. anchises? laertes. he's not dead. the funeral shroud is just a precaution- takes damn years to weave these things. the echo of a ghostly voice in his head is incidental. besides, he has his son to worry about. was iulus always this tall? when did he start growing a beard, wispy and red? kids these days, they grow up so fast.
not that it matters. he's home now. somehow managed to misplace those statues of the gods, though. that's not like him. he's supposed to be pious, devoted. the lies he's telling lie thick on his tongue like oil, but for what it's worth, he's home.
there's a lot to say about odysseus in aeneas's place, but i'll leave it to this: pietas cloaked in deceit makes for a foul offering. juno is not the only goddess capable of rage, and venus would like to know what the hell you did with her son.

I'm sorry, but dsmp is a God Damn comedy. A guy got locked in prison for three months cause an immortal doesn't know how time works. A dog just appeared for no reason. There's a miscommunication where people think the prison escaped, and when the prisoner is found he begs the warden to pretty please not tell anyone. A different immortal than the one before built a pool table. There is still an egg possessing people, but it's not really a problem anymore. Everyone hates each other. There are still nukes. Everyone loves each other. Everyones pets are dead.

So, dude, there I was watching quackity’s VOD, right, and then techno fucking disappears and I’m like, okay this is it. What is c!quackity gonna do? How is c!dream gonna get out dying here. And then, its absolutely beautiful, dude. Instead of keeping a level head, c!quackity instantly freaks the fuck out. He and c!sam just flip out. c!quackity leaves the cell and c!sam lowers the lava and they flail around like chickens with their heads cut off. but then c!quackity, still in this manic state, right, he just goes, ‘I’m gonna kill dream, lower the lava again, sam’. So c!sam lowers the lava and I’m like, oh god, here we go again. How is c!dream gonna get out of this, bro? And then, c!dream’s not there. And I was like, that little shit is hiding in that fucking hole in the obsidian that some of us saw on techno’s stream! *chef’s kiss* This whole series of events is goddamn perfection. I love how some of us got to put the pieces together because we watched techno’s stream first while sam and quackity viewers were genuinely confused and freaking out right along with the cc!s right up until c!sam discovered the hideout when he searched the prison. Honestly, this is the most GENIUS GODDAMN SERVER in the whole world and I love all these nerds so much, I love this fandom so fucking much. It’s so cool, dude.
Okay but listen, Quackity attempting to repeat Techno’s line (“I’ll put it through your teeth”) and failing to land the hit is spectacular writing imo
This is the type of scene that would normally come after a long period of growth, of a character developing enough to prove that they’ve overcome their demons
But Quackity hasn’t
Quackity hasn’t grown since the butcher army arc. He’s developed, absolutely, but he hasn’t grown. If anything, he’s gotten worse. He’s not better than Techno, he hasn’t overcome Techno, as a warrior or as a person. He’s only gotten more manipulative, more petty, more cowardly. Once again he has Techno trapped and cornered, convinced he has the upper hand, that he will finally prove he’s stronger than Technoblade, only to get it swept out from under his feet because he’s still going about getting that strength the wrong way. Techno’s strength doesn’t come from traps, or blackmail, or hiding behind others, it comes from a true boldness to stand up for what he believes and refuse to back down, regardless of how wrong or right he is, regardless of how it will make him come across to others. Quackity hasn’t gotten that yet.
Quackity hasn’t earned that pay off yet, and I think this was a brilliant way to show it.
