Waypoint Chronicles Volume 1 is out this month! The short story anthology series is set to be released May 26th, 2026. To celebrate its release, I’m counting down the days with the already released stories. Next up is:

Sunrise on Sanghelios

Debuting at HWC 2023 with a live reading featuring Steve Downes, Jen Taylor, and Keith David reprising their respective roles, Sunrise on Sanghelios picks up right where Halo 5 ends.

The Arbiter shares hard-won wisdom with the Master Chief as they catch up after parting ways when the Forward Unto Dawn was split in half at the end of Halo 3. They talk into the night and part ways, both hopeful that their alliance will bring about change in the face of so many threats, new and old. Chief finds resolve and some semblance of hope in parting ways as allies, and not through sacrifice or betrayal.
