It’s okay to not be okay. It can be helpful to transform that “not okay” to a “not okay yet”. I always feel more hopeful remembering that I will be okay again, and the period of not being okay doesn’t last forever. ♡
everything is changing and maybe that’s okay
as you get older you realise that anything that helps you stop feeling stuck is welcome even if it hurts at first

sorry to interrupt your scrolling but, i hope life gets better for you.
It's easy to listen to certain emotions that might be louder. But it's good to be mindful and reflect on which emotions we actually want to drive our lives and decisions. Let's give those emotions a voice! 💖

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how understanding behaviour and excusing behaviour aren’t the same thing.
On both sides of this too.
I can understand why I reacted a certain way and still acknowledge that someone got hurt and I can understand where someone else is coming from and still decide I need distance.
This feels especially relevant because often we’re told or feel that ‘oh, well they were abused themselves and that’s why they abuse’. But the truth is you can understand why someone is the way they are, but it doesn’t mean you’re obligated to tolerate certain behaviours or even continue to have them in your life.
changing my mindset from “if I don’t keep my home clean i’m a useless horrible failure” to “i deserve to live in a comfortable, clean environment, so i will do my best to provide myself with that” has been fairly life changing
and it applies to so much!!!! i try to take whatever i’m beating myself up over, like “i haven’t been eating enough veggies lately so i suck as a human,” and instead reframe it as “my body deserves all the important nutrients found in vegetables” and suddenly i’m ten billion times more inclined to actually prioritize eating more veggies
shame is a paralytic!!!!! self compassion is an actual motivator!!!!!

the human brain is so cool, if you're tired and stressed enough, your brain will go, "don't worry, I got you" and shadows will start moving
