seriously, teenagers are the absolute hardest group to engage at most libraries & we'll often organize programs that absolutely no one will show up to & it sucks. if you go up to a public librarian & say "hey, some friends & i want to do this thing. does that sound like a feasible teen program for the library?" most people will move heaven & earth to pull it off for you because we know there's an interest in our community. we will go balls to the freaking wall to make it happen

do you want a cosplay contest? a video game tournament? a free escape room? bring it up to the library. it's not a burden or an annoyance at all. it'll be like christmas came early for us

idk I can tell that some tumblrinas are not up on fat politics because I see a lot of people saying stuff like “it’s better to be a little fat than waste your life trying to be thin” or like “it’s chic to have a little belly” like okay but there are fat people who are “a lot fat” and have “a lot of belly” which everyone is weirdly silent on all the time. Like the fattest person on earth still deserves to exist in human society with joy and dignity regardless of how they got to that weight or how many health conditions they have as a result of their personal actions…that should be everyone’s baseline here I’m not really sure what’s complicated about it

Hey, just wanted to throw this out there, because I too have put the pressure of "The Readership's Expectations" upon myself when approaching the thing that my fic has been building toward... I can only speak for myself, but as a reader that really enjoys speculating in my comments, I also really, really enjoy when my speculations are debunked by the writer. Happy to be proven incorrect, because often times I'm thinking with my crazy drama brain, and the author is rightfully thinking with Good Story Payoff brain.

Your writing is amazing. Your characters feel like real people with real reactions. You don't have to worry about disappointing us.

I don't know if you've ever seen the movie The Impossible before, but the flashback scene in ch 14 felt like the tsunami wave rushing toward Maria and then just before it reaches her, it cuts to black and we're just left with a shot of murky water obscuring the screen for a minutes as we wonder exactly what's happening to the character, while also being able to guess what's happening.

And I'm just so impressed that you were able to capture the same kind of feeling in your fic. The decision not to return to Grace's POV after "What is 2 + 2 ?" was masterful.

hi so even hours later, chapter 14 is managing to make my chest feel weird whenever it enters my brain. and the thing is! i have low empathy and generally media doesn't make me feel much more than "this is consuming my brain and i need to rotate it in my mind and also chew on it and shake it and squeeze it so hard". but you, on top of that, have managed to make me feel physical emotions in my chest, and that does not happen often . you're. so good at this i think i need to actually explode

I just read the chapter and gosh…

I wonder just how much Grace said to the medical team during his flashback. Me personally I’m imagining that he said most, if not all, what he said in the flashback in real time.

Like imagine Grace backed into a corner and the team trying to calm him down and he’s sobbing and him talking about how he doesn’t want to die in space.

Ugh! How do you expect me to wait a week for the next chapter? This is torture!!
