How did you choose the names for the non Imara and Yiming crew? Their last names feel like obvious symbolism for their relationship to Grace and how they navigate situations (tough responsible Stone, introspective emotionally tuned in Hart), but what about the rest of Terra's Grace? :]
Great question! A few of them were named specifically after people (particularly teachers...or pets lmao) who have been important in my life. Some of them were named off vibes (Webs kinda came to my head fully formed and i could not deny him). Several were named by friends of mine who graciously provided name ideas when I messaged the group chat begging for help naming Thirty-Something OCs. And the rest came from fantasynamegenerators.com my beloved, which has real-world names from many many many cultures and languages as well, and I wanted to make sure I was pulling from a diversity of cultures that I might not immediately be able to think of names from if I tried to do it on my own.
Also yes, Imara and Yiming's last names were chosen very deliberately for the on-the-nose symbolism you noticed! <3
