Many of us are not aware of our thought processes when we initially react to circumstances. Our innate reactions were learned behavior due to our past which feel normal to us since we never took the time to assess why we react the way we do. . . When we become defensive from feeling hurt by someone when the person causing the hurt did not have the intention to be hurtful, our feelings of pain or sadness have to be questioned. Our intentions of our actions is what has to be brought to the surface, so if your intention is to be hurtful, then you have to question why you’re being hurtful. If your intention is not to be hurtful, but the other person takes it as hurtful, then the other person has to assess his/her emotions. . . Being aware of our emotions and mindfully processing them before choosing a best action is how we become mentally stronger. . . This daily mental exercise is how we overcome being stuck within anxiety and depression because we know we have control of our thoughts. . . Let’s choose to practice mental awareness daily. . .
