Injured
Simon Ghost Riley x GN!Rookie Reader
(I’m sorry guys I love the trope when the other takes care of another when they’re injured, this has to be like my third time doing itlololol first time writing for cod)
Simon Ghost Riley:
Sizzling pain stretched inside your wrist after a mishap of you tripping straight onto a tree branch during a drill. So embarrassing. Already being a rookie didn’t help and falling into branches didn’t help your title one bit. Hell. Your wrist furiously bled through the skin as you wobbled up trying to get some kind of footing from the sudden experience. Every other soldier was still doing laps. You should get back out there before you get yelled at by the commanding officer. Taking a shaky breath you were about to dash once again before a strong grip engulfed your non-injured wrist from behind.
“Oi. Injured are we? That thing may get infected. Were you planning to continue the drill while bleeding through like a bloody maniac?” The commanding officer. Justtttt greeeaaat. You were in it for a lecture but didn’t expect it to come so suddenly so a flinch left your body as you averted your gaze frowning.
“Lieuntent. A small scratch on my wrist won’t kill me.” You rasped out oblivious of how much blood was spilling. The blurry vision should've been a warning.
“Are you daft? You can’t even stand still.” Ghost spat out grabbing your arm off the injured wrist and eyed it, his eyes narrowing in disapproval. Despite his face mainly being covered. His eyes spoke his emotions.
“I promise I’m okay.” Why was everything spinning? Do not pass out. You told yourself. Your reputation would surely plummet. The absolute embarrassment that would rise when every other soldier would find out the new rookie passed out in front of their commanding officer? Hell no.
“Oi. Rookie. Eyes up here.” As if realizing Ghost flinched himself and you felt strong arms take over your body before it hit the ground.
~~~~~~~~~
Your eyes drifted open and a stinging pain hit your wrist. Thankfully though when you peered down after checking the surroundings of the infirmary, you were met with gauze placed around it delicately yet professionally.
“Rookie.”
A heavy jolt racked through your body as you peered up.
Ghost.
“What happened?” You shakily said your voice hoarse of water, and as if realizing Ghost gave you a bottle which you chucked down greedily taking a heavy breath right after.
“You were injured. That small wrist injury you call it was laced with poison. The tree you fell onto was lathered in some kind of poison. That's why you were wobbling all over the place like an idiot. Idiot.”
Now that is not what you would’ve expected.
“How did poison even get there?” Your voice crackled feeling tired which was to be expected after the entire ordeal.
“No idea. Teams investigating it.”
You weakly nodded in reply peering up at him. You had seen Ghost push his soldiers to the brink of insanity. But he took you into the infirmary after only seeing a scratch? Yes it was poison! But he didn’t know. He just. Helped you. Without. Question.
Your heart did a strange stutter.
“Rookie. Don’t daydream.”
You peered up and tilted your head.
“Why did you take me here? I wasn’t injured that severely from the looks of it. I-I know I am now but I mean before.”
Ghost eyed you as if in thought staring.
“I’m your commanding officer. I take care of who’s under me.” His voice was gruff as if he was trying to cover up something. But what?
“You hadn’t done that to that one soldier that was practically spitting blood. Bias?” You sheepishly added earning a glare from Ghost.
“Another soldier took care of him. I was the closest to you. So I helped.” You could’ve sworn this was all bullshit to hide something. But maybe not. Maybe you were overthinking the situation. Yeah. He’s Simon Ghost Riley. He doesn’t do ‘affection.’ At least not to you.
Another weak nod left you. Ghost sighed and got up throwing a bag of candy at you which you stared at dumbfounded.
“You snore a lot when you sleep.”
