It is extremely heavily implied. Beyond the Prophet's enigmatic nature and his appearance matching a description of Tiber Septim, there is some extremely heavy hints to this fact. For one, his magical knowledge of matters relating to Talos and the Divine. There is also his unique ability to sense that the Amulet of Kings is in your possession. He also literally bestows upon you the Blessing of Talos that is necessary to destroy a spirit utterly. As he does that, he says: "As a proven guardian of this realm and a warrior the likes of which have not been seen in millennia, Talos grants you his sacred Blessing."

I'm sorry @theasianinfluence. I really did try to figure this out but my lack of knowledge on Hot Topic has one again proven to be a critical weakness.

I was trying to work through the theory that Hot Topic was probably at their peak relevancy, and as such through cultural osmosis the "Hot Toppification" of anything would be possible from products of that era. To accomplish that I was trying to create a provable example of this using inflation data combined with SEC revenue filings of Hot Topic. But of course this hit a snag that Hot Topic has gone private since then, and as such has stopped publishing income numbers. My guess is that their profitability is largely down, but I cannot definitively prove this. This also doesn't consider that Hot Topic may just have been more culturally relevant, regardless of profits. And the rise of online sales makes this all the more to quantify.
