It doesn't make any sense to me. If it's about recovering from trauma and (C)SA... Why is this not being framed as an issue of ableism if their go-to excuse is that it's a therapeutic way to recover from trauma? Or why isnt it being framed as a feminist issue related to the SA of trans youth? Why is the conversation not about queer rights to bodily autonomy, especially in regards to trans people?
If it really is about (C)SA and how it affects people why are these blogs and people not pushing awareness campaign, statistics, or helpful resources?
Why are they making it about accepting paraphilic kinks without criticism instead? And why is that conversation only happening in regards to trans people? Why is disinterest and/or disgust with these things being framed specifically as transphobic when cishets cope in the Same Exact way? Like... Ddlg, while slightly different, is a whole porn category dominated by straight cishets, is it not?
So is it transphobic because conservatives associate grooming with trans people?
Well if that's the case then why are these people not pointing out how often cishets are the actual perpetrators abusing and grooming kids?
I so distinctly recall a time when the queer retort to these claims was followed by political cartoons about the church and headlines about people like Epstein and Trump, as if to say "trans people are not the people you need to worry about."
So why is there now a growing sentiment within trans circles to say "yeah but it's only fake grooming between consenting adults" or "yeah but I don't engage with Actual kids"
There is a large gap between being kink/sex-positive as a way to normalize queer sex and combat the idea that queer people are all perverts and.... associating specifically trans people with specifically paraphilia... on purpose. Huge gap. Giant.
Lets put our critical thinking caps on for a minute:
Do you think cishets, especially bigoted cishet politicians, are going to catch wind of this and engage with it in good faith?
How EXACTLY is this going to help bring about trans rights?
How EXACTLY is this helping combat stigma surrounding (C)SA?
How EXACTLY is this destigmatizing survivors of (C)SA?
How EXACTLY is this going to make conservatives stop associating trans people with being groomers?
Why aren't cishet "allies" joining in and admitting their kinks since they're so happy to spread posts about trans women with paraphilic kinks?
And taking all that into account:
Who benefits from all this?
What the fuck is the queer community doing (rhetorical btw)
