You're right that it's stupid to debate whether Dean cared more about Sam or Castiel.

Look, I'm not saying that he didn't get upset when something bad happened to Cas, but please point to where that ever made him an "active suicide risk."

Because we know what that looks like for Dean, thanks to canon. It's him dealing away his soul for only one more year with his brother (although he would've made that deal just for Sam's life alone, who're we kidding). It's him swallowing a massive handful of pills to go talk with Death to try and trade his life for Sam's. It's him, completely dead-eyed, preparing to walk into a cave full of vampires to either retrieve Sam's body or die in there with him.

But when he thought Cas was dead, sure he was sad, but he managed to carry on.

And it's not a competition, he can and did love more than one person on the show. But I do not think it's honest to claim that he got suicidal over Castiel, because he just didn't.
