James and Lily are dead, Peter is presumably dead, Sirius is in Azkaban, Remus is alone and doesn't know what to do nearing a full moon, so where does he go?
The Shrieking Shack. A place he knows well.
And to keep close to it he gets a job at Hogsmeade, the easiest he could find, at Honeydukes, and he gets a room at Hog's Head Inn so he would be near by.
And who just got a job being the youngest teacher at Hogwarts at his time?
