"He only changed because Lily died."
...So?
Many characters suffer loss and very few spend the rest of their lives risking torture and death trying to atone for their mistakes.
His redemption does not erase his past (Yes, we know!), but it does demonstrate moral growth. He spends nearly two decades making sacrifices for a cause that gains him nothing personally.
Sometimes it takes a loss of someone close or important to them, or a big personal event, to spark a moral change.
How is that so wrong?
Albus changed for Arianna. Regulus made a moral decision to save Kreacher instead of himself. Draco shut his mouth to conceal Harry's identity. Narcissa lied to Voldemort' face for Draco. Albus gave his life to protect Draco' moral ground.
And yet only Severus is condemned?

i love how most of the snape edits i come across are made with the CUNTIEST edit audios possible…like you’d think to expect depeche mode, radiohead or like the cure, maybe the smiths or jeff buckley idk..but then you scroll and it’s charlie xcx, ayesha erotica, she wants revenge, 6areleyhuman and tbh im not really surpised it makes sense in its own way and I LOVE EVERY ONE OF THEM
I’m not talking about the creepy ai snape tts beeteedubs
sunday church AU
the vicar's giving a sermon, there are children sitting there, and during the sermon he says:
> if someone strikes you on one cheek..
and all the children chant in unison:
> turn to him the other also.
Sirius, quite loudly:
> kick the cunt in the head. has he lost his fucking mind?
ar the exact same moment, Severus mumbles:
> i rather doubt he'd survive 3g of cyanide, but he's welcome to try..
and there is silence.
and they look at each other.
and everyone is looking at them.
and they are looking at each other.

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with relating to characters, “they’re literally me” etc but if that’s the only way you engage with stories you’re kinda missing the whole point of Characters being vehicles through which we can see perspectives outside of our own. and also you’re going to get upset when the Character acts in a way that is not Personally Relatable to You
doubly for shipping. at risk if biting the hand that feeds me, a well written fictional relationship should ideally be more than a didactic template for how to have a nice relationship
It came in waves - that unimaginable grief. The pain that tore through the bleeding muscle, fracturing those silent screams that can only be felt in the deepest crevices of the soul.
The grief of so much lost. The grief of lives stolen and denied. The grief of a life no longer possble. The grief of scattered dreams. The grief of losing a part of yourself, disintegrated forever.
The grief of feeling you may never reach the surface.
War tore through Severus and Harry, piece by piece. Every morsel of the person thay once were, merely drifted upon the surface in hopeless shards. Both of whom only wished to trade their lives for someone else more worthy.
For Severus, his breath of life felt wasted. To Harry, living whilst some people died felt like a sin.
Peeling apart their differences, they eventually realised that they had so much more in common. Through their shared pain, they eventually found a kinship while navigating the guilt of surviving and knowing only the other could understand them.

My 100 (and change) unjustly-ignored novels
The Guardian released a list of the 100 Best Novels of All Time, and I responded with my personal favourites. Somehow they're not all PG Wodehouse and Terry Pratchett. But it got close.
Wait, you can make a second account???
on AO3? yeah
you need to either have a second email address or set up an alias on your existing address - it doesn't matter whether it delivers to the same inbox, what matters is the email addresses need to look different to AO3's back end.
If you're wondering whether this is AO3's official stance, yes it is. They actually recommend it in the FAQ answer for whether you can have an anonymous pseud (you can't). The relevant quote is:
You can set up a second Archive account using a different email address... Post works that you wish to be separate from your original account using that second account. This option is the most secure.

Hi! I have two ao3 accounts, and i was wondering of there was a way to completely move a fic from one to the other without deleting and reposting? I've added the second acc as a co-creator but I cannot remove the first. Is there a solution to this? I would really love to keep all my comments and kudos
I'm afraid you'll need to ask either Support or PAC for help with this one. I don't know why you'd be unable to remove the original account unless:
there's a technical issue occurring for some reason (Support)
your original account is currently suspended (PAC)
you cannot access the original account because you forget your password (Support)
you cannot access the original account because it is not yours (PAC)
I'm assuming it's just a technical issue that Support can help you with, but if it's one of the other things then hopefully you can contact the right team to assist.
Both email forms are linked in the website's footer. Support is linked under Technical Support & Feedback. PAC's is linked under Policy Questions & Abuse Reports
Iirc you have to go to the original account and remove it from that side - you wouldn't be able to remove it from your second account. The option will be at the top when you go in to edit the work as a button that says "remove me as a co-creator"
Thank you for this addition! I hadn't considered that anon didn't realize they need to remove themselves from the original account!
When I did this, the steps were:
1) From the Original Account, add the New Account as co-creator (you did this!)
2) From New Acct, go to Co-Creator Requests and accept the request
3) From Original Acct, go into edit work and choose Remove Me As Co-Creator at the top of the page
This should do it!
The new acct isn’t officially a co-creator until accepting the request, and the original can’t be removed from the work if the new acct isn’t fully a co-creator.
New oneshot!
Explicit. Snarity (Snape/Charity). 6464 words.
Get It Over With.
