I feel like the snape fandom talks about him being bullied a lot but most fans kinda disregard it and with the new series coming out I wonder how they're going to play it. if they cut it out or change it up imma be so mad

because you just know their conversations would be so layered. like on the surface it’s all polite, controlled, very pure-blood etiquette (courtesy of cissa), tea poured perfectly, every word chosen carefully, but underneath all that? like come on they're SO slytherin about it

like narcissa absolutely comes in with “updates” that are 50% concern, 50% strategic information, and sev just sits there pretending he’s above it all while very much listening to everything.

also i fully believe narcissa would drop the most cutting observations about people and snape would internally agree but give the driest responses ever.

like whether he leaves after the werewolf prank or the fifth year lake incident, it always feels so… right for his character. people forget how isolating hogwarts was for him, he’s stuck between being bullied by the marauders and slowly getting pulled into darker circles, and there’s never really a moment where anyone steps in for him. so when authors write him just… leaving? it kinda just makes sense

and the werewolf prank version especially??? because imagine nearly dying, realizing the school doesn’t protect you, dumbledore silences the whole thing, and you’re just expected to move on like nothing happened. like of course he’d snap

same with the lake scene, public humiliation, lily defending him but also smiling at the prank, and that being the breaking point where he realizes he’s lost the only person he actually cared about. that moment already feels like a point of no return in canon

and the marauders’ reactions are always so interesting too. sometimes they don’t even realize the impact they had until he’s gone, and there’s this weird mix of guilt and denial, like they’ll brush it off at first, but then it starts to sink in that things went too far. especially with remus, since the prank directly involves him.

i also love when the fic explores what happens after, like where does sev even go? does he still get pulled toward the death eaters, or does leaving hogwarts actually change his path? some fics have him thriving somewhere else, learning magic on his own, building a different life, and it’s honestly so satisfying to read.

Dy guys ever read Snape second-chance fics? I’ve recently been re-reading Colours of Redemption on AO3( its a wip but u guys should totally check it out), and I think it’s really interesting how the author places him in different Hogwarts houses

It got me thinking, what house would Snape actually belong in? By the end of the canon series, we see so many different sides of him that it’s hard to pin him down into just one. He’s obviously ambitious and cunning, but also incredibly brave, clever and creative, and in some ways even loyal in his own complicated way.

-physically can not show up on time

-only acknowledges Minerva with a small nod (everyone else is ignored)

-snarky comments under his breath the whole ass time

-eye rolls whenever a new weasley prank is mentioned as he is normally the victim

-whenever someone asks him anything he takes a condescending sip of his tea and raises his eyebrows before answer in THE MOST ANNOYED ASS TONE EVER

-speaking of tea, he has a ''world's best potions master'' mug given to him by draco
