People will correctly identify that heteronormativity is a problem in old historiography and then immediately turn around and insist that two people must be having sex based on transgressive social intimacy. Then say something like "because sex is a human need for fulfillment."

This isn't exclusive to same sex attraction or love either. Anyone who digs into Empress Elisabeth's writings enough will find pretty clear statements about being apathetic (or disinclination) to physical intimacy and fulfillment from totally separate parts of her life.

We can't assume that people's highest fulfillment comes from having sex with the people they love. I wish we could have more nuance about this.

I love art and not all art needs to have a point but also i HATE when craftsman create a beautiful work of art and its completely nonfunctional. Case in point certain clocks and watches, some of them are completely unusable as their purpose even though they look beautiful or well made and are made from significant materials.

I saw a beautiful looking bejeweled clock- with the hands as faceted diamonds and spotted with other gems made with crystal or something probably, but it had no engraved numbers into the glass. The diamonds pointing were somewhat wide so you wouldnt get too accurate a read even if there were some minute and hour guides. Purely for decoration, supplying only a general time. Its beautiful and you cant deny the work it took to make but also can we make it functional and maybe do some small lines where the important times are?

I just think things could be beautiful AND functional, theres no reason to have to do just one

I love when people who aren't from Arizona try to draw/paint/model cacti, especially saguaros because god. It's always so bad. Look at this.

All due respect Mr. Joy of Painting but that saguaro is ILL. That thing is on death's door. At LEAST 175 years old. He describes it as a big one that got a lot of sun and nourishment and like no I don't think it did!! I think it's fucking dead, dude!!! They only look that skinny when they're about to DIE.

A healthy full grown saguaro below for reference.

Here's what I need you to do:

If you see a post with a "mature content" label, and it's 2026, DM me a link to the post.

Yes, that's really it.

I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.

If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.
