it is that time of year again when i host a moodboard event for shiftblr. all you have to do is request one of the following types of moodboards, for your chosen reality, in my asks!

layla castelló is an italian-american born in rural illinois. her paternal grandparents were born in abruzzo, italy. they moved to america in the early eighties after having their son, layla’s father. her mother was born and raised in chicago, illinois. her parents would meet in the late nineties, moving out to the country in the early 2000s.

her route to the red bull racing was a bit stranger than normal. since she grew up in america, her desire to race was focused on nascar. she spent her childhood karting and dirt track racing. the flip from nascar to formula one happened in her early-teens when her family spent a summer in italy. she started f4 racing at sixteen and would be racing in f1 only three years later at nineteen.

born november fifteenth 2005 — she is 19 during the 2025 racing season.

she uses the american flag when racing. & the number 44.

she only speaks a little italian. bits & pieces she learned from her grandmother. her accent is the classic midwestern—you wouldn’t be able to tell her italian heritage from the way she speaks.

jason todd is an italian-american born in naples, italy to his italian mother, carmela de luca, and his american father, joseph todd. he would spend his half of his life in milan, italy and the other half in manhattan, new york.

he began karting as a young boy under the influence of his maternal grandfather. he would then follow the usual route to his own f1 seat at age eighteen in 2021. during his four years in f1 he has not budged from his mercedes seat, much to his grandfather's dismay. the old man had hoped jason would follow in his footsteps and align his loyalties to ferrari.

born august sixteenth 2002 — he is 22 during the 2025 racing season.

he uses the italian flag when racing. & the number 4.

he speaks fluent english & italian. his accent is surprisingly more akin to those from new york than those born in the heart of italy.

dried orange peels | you're brought back to a memory of complete and utter happiness. one that you hadn't thought about in a while, and suddenly you have the urge to relive it all over again via a mini scenario.

there isn’t a specific memory, more of a time of my life that brought me nothing but joy. the second semester of my senior year of college i spent almost every day with at least one of my friends. my best friend & i had sleepovers almost every weekend. the feeling of being about to move on from that moment in my life while also being so secure in my friendships will probably never be replicated again.

i am thankfully everyday that i got to experience such love and simplicity during that very stressful period in my life.

my sweetest boy. with the pink and black paw pads. with the pointy kitten teeth. with the orange eyes. my baby pumpkin goes with me every where. i’ve had him since i was a child. wherever he is, home is. i love jason a lot but the one thing above him is pumpkin.

i found him in my neighborhood when he was a kitten. some kids were throwing him around. i walked over with my older brother and asked to hold the kitten. after holding him for a second i just walked off with him. i wasn’t about to leave him there with those kids that were actively scaring him.

one of my favorite memories of him is coming home from my high school graduation and seeing him laying on my pillow. yes, i did immediately ball my eyes out—my sweet boy has been apart of my life so long & seen every stage. i love him so so so much.

the only person that forever with doesn’t scare me is the one and only jason peter todd. at every corner and turn, i see him right there with me. bothering me with his dorky smiles and fun facts. unfortunately, i wouldn’t want it any other way.
