This is a good post and also I think people reading it should think about the experiences disabled people, especially disabled women, who cannot work (or who can only work a little) have in relationships and marriages. If we are "lucky" enough to be receiving benefits from the state, in many countries we can't get married without losing our incomes. We can't be in relationships at all with someone often, unless they are willing and able to support us financially. Even when we're nonpartnered, we are in a functionally financially dependent relationship with the state, or with our families or whoever is paying for us to live. There isn't a safe place to run. And anyone can become disabled at any time, and any disabled person can become unable to work more easily than a nondisabled person.
