genuinely where did the fandom wide hallucination that grace ran out of food on the way to Erid come from?? it’s not mentioned in the movie at all but in the book he clearly says that he has enough to get there plus a few months, like he thought he was going to starve to death on Erid or in orbit around the planet. and he gets a bunch of nutritional deficiencies while on Erid, not before. like he wasn’t eating real food but where did this idea that he starts starving or needs to severely ration food on the trip come from maaaaaaan

there is also no good way to go to a wedding event for people that you barely know but must attend for connection reasons and try to explain to them why you (person they have never met before) are so fucking exhausted without saying oh so I was at my grandfather’s funeral in another state yesterday. yes he died this week. yes it was very sudden and unexpected. yes I was the last person to see him alive. anyway, how goes the wedding prep?

I just kind of feel that if you are clinging to the idea of an afterlife as a way to escape from the reality of death you are in a way approaching it with an emotional immaturity that will long term leave you unable to deal with the consequences of the emotions you are fruitlessly running from and I feel this way both about real people in my life who are very clearly trying to avoid grief by saying they think I will see my grandfather again but also about people who habitually avoid or deny tragedy in the media they consume by imagining that the characters will all meet in heaven later
