The documentary frames LBH and SY's interactions as SY being a bleeding heart with conflicted feelings about his asshole brother (true). But then, towards the end of the show, when LBH is in jail (for the literal medical crimes), it smash cuts to an angry, convalescing SJ ranting while being doted on by YQY.

"He's fucking my brother now. Did you know that? That little monster mutilated me, and Shen Yuan decided to make him his boy toy!"

Documentary cuts back over to pre-jail footage of LBH and SY clearly flirting, standing close, LBH leaned in real close, SY lovingly flattening out wrinkles on LBH's clothes that aren't there, etc.

SY, sitting for an interview, splutters after being questioned about their relationship. "How is that-? I dont-? That's really none of anyone's business! I simply enjoy the boy's company. He's a delightful conversationalist, you know! The incident between Luo Binghe and Shen Jiu was very complicated and unfortunate, of course. But I'm at the age where if I want to form a friendship, I'm not going to let past differences or- or society's preconceived notions stop me!" With as much dignity as he can muster while his face is sweaty and cheeks red, SY unclips his microphone and flees the studio.

Cuts to LBH in prison, filmed dramatically with him in prison uniform behind a wire mesh glass window pane. He's just been asked a question, and his eyes light up. His already handsome face splits into a devil eating grin. He then ducks his head slightly, peering up through his lashes. "Yuan-ge said he'll wait for me, and we've been writing letters everyday."

I want to imagine that as unforseen consequence of the documentary lbh gets TONS of fans. I mean people stan real life serial killer. I'm sure they would stan lbh. He is not THAT problematic. He hasn't even killed anyone! He just cut off the legs of some crusty old man who according to witnesses is a real piece of work. The man probably DESERVED to have his legs cut off. Or else someone as nice and gorgeous as Luo Binghe wouldn't have to do it!!

The disciples obviously don't take it seriously, laughing it off like haha ok old man (not that they'd ever do it to his face), one day, Liu Qingge's shizun comes to visit Bai Zhan Peak claiming she had business to discuss with Liu Qingge. During her visit, she sits in on one of their training days as she laughs at Qingge, claiming he's gone soft, and that coddling these kids is no good, and that she'll show them how it's done and Qingge's like wow lucky you guys cause she's the best of the best.

and mu qingfang is like ok we are going to do this. now, there is a CHANCE that xuan su is going to do something! but we don't know and we'll take every precaution, ok? and yue qingyuan is thinking ok, yes, makes sense that this one mistake has taken everything from me but nothing happens for the whole gestational period and you know what? it seems ok. yue qingyuan has been allowing himself to hope. he's become cautiously excited for this child. he's got baby blankets. he's not really thinking of a name but he can imagine this little guy swaddled in his arms and yue qingyuan is, by the time his water breaks and he's in labor, anticipatory.

he's silent the whole birth. the pain isn't even that bad, but he wants the child out, he wants the child alive, and he pushes that final time, and mu qingfang takes the baby and cuts the cord and yue qingyuan knows that the baby should be crying. it's been silent in the delivery room, and he's waiting. he's waiting.

the baby doesn't cry. He can see mu-shidi's face. yue qingyuan closes his eyes, thinks why did i expect differently, and very quietly gets up and walks out of the room.
