Because of Rumi's half demon nature the Honmoon is slowly 'killing' her. Or at-least thats when everyone thinks. What it's actually been doing is finding the balance between demon and human for her to be able to live with her girls and not be immortal. They have already finished their careers as idols, their relationship with Celine is much better now, maybe they are married?
It starts with Rumi's patterns going from the faint kaleidoscope colors we normally see to an ever growing orange. It's hardly noticeable but eventually her patterns are too orange not to notice. Then one day she collapses. No warning, just pain. Her patterns flair like magma, like they are burning through her skin, but she is cold to the touch. They realize that the Honmoon is wrapping itself around her a little bit more every day and they try to stop it before they realize it's not possible. They refuse to leave her side. Celine and the girls try to keep her comfortable as much as they can while she is delirious in pain. Then one day they wake up/or watch the Honmoon fully cocoon Rumi. They cry thinking that this is it but the cocoon is still there the next day. I would say give it a week or month until the Honmoon ripples out like a break wave at the beach. Everyone rushes to Rumi. She looks more demon(maybe tiger demon) and her patterns are a pale white glow while she stares down at herself not noticing them. When she looks around the room she notices them and her patterns flair gold then settle into a mix of gold and pink. They all reunite. Rumi has to adjust to her new body, the patterns being a mood ring, and very overwhelmed family that thought her dead!

Six months after "Rumi and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" and the posterior reconciliation, Rumi (alpha) can't keep her feelings trapped anymore.
She wants to confess and wants a forever with Mira(Omega) and Zoey (Beta).
But 1) it has been six months since she stopped taking Suppressants and is still finding her balance and control
2) They deserve the best courting
3) she needs to get a good grade in dates, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve
Everything NEEDS to be perfect, so she makes graphs and plans but still feels underwhelming, she needs a second opinion.
Enter childhood friend Jinu (Omega).

Still Rumi doesn't feel ready, one thing is theory another is practice.
So she is taking Jinu to practice dates, he must tell her if she is being too overbearing or distant, if her scent and pheromones are too much or too little.

What is "The very bad not good day"
ZoeMira have awful experiences with alphas, Zoey was bullied and harassed, Mira had to go in dates with alphas that her family chose for her every single one was a jerk that always said how they will fix her, being handsy and gross with her. They avoid alphas as if they have the plague and will be aggressive the if someone try to get close after being told no.
Rumi presented late, very late.
The doctors said that it was better for her health if she came slowly so she was prescribed special suppressants, making her new pheromones inexistent and her scent become a little different, something subtle.
She meets ZoeMira before her presentation and becomes friends with them.
She falls in love.
For Rumi her presentation ruins every chance she has to be with them. Why can't she just be a Beta? She was fine being a Beta!
So she makes a stupid choice, her prescription was supposed to be a temporary thing to help her body to settle.
She takes far longer than what is healthy.
She gets closer and closer to ZoeMira, she feels she has a chance.
Her health was deteriorating, mira noticed, Zoey noticed, Jinu noticed, they tried to help but she kept lying and hiding.
Until the *Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day* someone jealous bitch tried to frame her for drugging taking her pills and publically exhibit her.
ZoeMira already with the emotions high (because Rumi health was obviously bad) confront her, accusations and recriminations coming from broken and worried hearts.
(Why she doesn't trust them?, Zoey told her about her bullying, the divorce, her broken home, about not being enough and too much. Mira told her about the neglect, the insults, how she was no daughter but a tool that was thrown away when she refused to be used.
Did Two, almost three years of friendship mean nothing to her?)
Rumi is extremely stressed and she missed her dose, her scent and pheromones comes uncontrollable, oppressive and intimidating.
"I NEEDED TO FIX IT!"
Mira acts automatically she bares her fangs and stands in front of Zoey not seeing Rumi but an alpha, a feral one, a danger to her mate.
Zoey is so close to panic attack, memories of pranks, shoves and unwanted touches.
Mira is not letting her guard down, her mind focused in protecting Zoey.
Rumi looks past her, knowing that Mira is deep in instinct.

Celine (CEO) is called and brings her to the hospital, Later her auntie Kimmie (lawyer) goes to clean her name and Miyeong (ex idol) holds her when she comes back home.
When she is better she asks ZoeMira to talk.
They accept.
She tells (almost) all the truth.
Everyone apologize, Rumi is not mad at them, she knows how hurt they were, to the point they need therapy, she knows that PTSD is a bitch, she is not mad.
(Therapy help her alot, her other issues plus all this mess finally push her to seek help)
Fast forward to the present, Rumi wants to be completely truthful, wants to be honest with herself and them.
Wants to show all of her, show them she can be the alpha they deserve.
Aka why all her planning and running around with Jinu.
The thing is ZoeMira are misunderstanding because guilt is a bitch.
Obviously Rumi will date Jinu, her childhood friend, the one she trusted with her secret, the one that defend her, that rescued her, the one that has not betrayed her,
They are the ones that fucked up and are lucky to even stay friends with her.
They should not want more than that.
(They do, Zoey wanted her when she defended Mira because the favorite teacher of everyone was a creep towards her, Mira wanted her when she saw listening patiently to Zoey rambles without getting mad when she jumped from a theme to another)
The other thing is that Jinu FUCKING KNOWS, he is not blinded like Rumi who is hyper focusing in her plans.
He knows that ZoeMira are dying of envy and is more than happy to let it happen.
They deserve to suffer a little.
Also it could be that Jinu was the one to secretly guide the bitch in finding Rumi's prescription. She wasn't listening to him about the danger and damage, and her mothers were to busy to check her.
His plan was that the bitch would confront rumi with teacher bobby is secluded area preferably a class room, Zoey will defend Rumi while Mira tore the bitch apart.
It wasn't supposed to be in public, bit still Zoey should have gone to console Rumi and Mira should have beat the bitch. They should have been the ones to bring Rumi to her home where her moms will take her to the hospital, they should have stayed by her side.
They didn't.
Everything went wrong and the guilt is burning him alive. So he is following all Rumi plans, helping her to remodel her bedroom because she needs to make a good nest to give her (God help her) soon to be pack a safe space, teaching her how to skate because she wants to impress Zoey in skate date, going to the museum and aquarium with a binder and fact checking everything she says because she is a nerd in love with nerds,, ignoring and dropping everything when she calls him with a new idea to practice.
Because Rumi, sweet oblivious baby think "hmm I need more data" so she ASK THEM about their interests/hobbies/etc under dumb excuses like "i wanna try it sounds fun!" Or " idk it seems interesting" and quickly writes in her notebook/planner, saves money for tickes to show/bands/gifts/etc.
And ZoeMira CAN'T DENIED OR TELL HER OFF because Rumi is giving them her full attention with that goofy smile of hers, looking at them like they are giving her the answers to her final exams and they can't say no.
Mira doesn't clench her jaw when she sees Jinu post about his trip to the art museum with his "good friend" Rumi.
Whatever, she doesn't care she just doesn't understand why Rumi went with that uncultured fool when Mira knows art history like the palm of her hand.
She doesn't insult Jinu in the privacy of her room because the ungrateful bastard was making fun of the handmade lunch that Rumi made for him.
Rumi took time from her busy schedule to cook for him and he dared to mock her attempts? Piece of shit.
Mira would be so grateful, she would eat it all even if is overcooked and charred.
She pushed Zoey outside the shop the moment she saw Rumi and jinu there.
She didn't want to interrupt their date that's all.
She is not hurt because Rumi used to ask her for her opinion on fabrics and clothes, complimenting her fashion sense.
The day she visits Rumi's room because they have a project together she stays still waiting for her when a call interrupts them.
She doesn't look around and sees the bedroom door semi closed, she doesn't let curiosity win, she doesn't quietly open the door.
She doesn't gasp when she sees that the individual bed was replaced by a king size mattress with padded walls, the base for a nest.

She doesn't bite her lip when she sees clothes that would fit her perfectly, pillows that look soft as clouds and weighted blankets that Zoey would love.

She doesn't cry when she smells the lavender scent that she loves so much marking everything, pheromones of the only alpha that has made her feel safe, promising love and warm.

She doesn't cry when she sees how happy Rumi is, jumping up and down celebrating her victory.

Ugh this is one of the few ideas that I want to properly write but i have enough wips still is so damn tempting maybe I can write a one shot? Ugh(ﾉ´･ω･)ﾉ ﾐ ┻━┻
I divided on the end because there are three ways/paths.
1) Rumi finally is ready to confess. She sends a "we need to talk, can I come to your room?" in their group chat. ZoeMira prepares themselves for the news, they think either Rumi is going to make things official with Jinu or cut them out of her live
2) Zoey and Mira are trapped in the room with Jinu and rumi during a date. They hide and brace themselves to watch and listen to something that would break their hearts. They end leaving with a flustered kiss covered Rumi.
3) Rumi is out on "date" with jinu outside the city. Zoey and Mira get so drunk that they can't take anymore and call Rumi confessing. The next day they regret it and discover that Rumi let her phone in her room, in panic they sneak into Rumi's room to delete their text before she comes back. They manage but before they can escape Jinu and Rumi arrive so they hide. Jinu and rumi were on a trip to buy more things for the nest and are bickering.
So I read "let me be a little less liminal" by @whatwordsmiss and thought it was incredibly good!
So I made a theme for it. As one does.

Rumi orders their favorite food, waits until they take a bite before digging it and will give them her portion if they want more, she makes sure their favorite snacks are never out of stock, check every question in interviews beforehand, check contracts, give them clothes and blankets with her scent regularly for their heats and swap clothes, she had scheduled cuddle times. She stays close to them when a fan is getting too touchy, letting them deal with it but ready to attack at the minimal sign of discomfort or ask for help. She had growled at annoying paparazzi and annoying alpha male idols.
She just acts as a gentle alpha courting and protecting her beloved omegas.
Zoe and Mira answer the courting as traditional they can do it , because of course Rumi will be old fashioned like that, but instead their actions are dismissed with "Aw so nice of you".
They follow the rules courting to the T and she just doesn't fucking notices.
She is just being a good leader, she says, I am the alpha of course i have to take care of you, she says, we are a pack of course we love each other, she says.
Premovie there was an interview, Zoey's stomach hurt but she didn't want to stop the interview she was visible uncomfortable, what did Rumi do? Stop the interview? No
She picked her Maknae up and sat with her in her lap, caressing her back and putting Zoey close to her neck so she could have comfort to calm down. Rumi doesn't even blink or stop talking, she continues like having her maknae in her lap in the middle of an interview is something common for an idol group.
Zoey is red and dying, Mira has her head in her hands, the host jaw is on the floor, the whole room is silent.
Rumi continues talking but she slightly tilts her head and takes a quick look around, she ends focusing on Mira hiding her face and goes "oh she must have headache" so she puts her fucking hand on Mira's thigh because sadly she can't have both girls in her lap, she needs to train more this unacceptable.
She nods and finishes her answer and the Host picks herself enough to continue.
Zoey is dying, Mira is dying, the fans are dying but are really invested.
After the reveal, they thought that maybe that was keeping her from taking the final step, stoping from becoming official, stopping her from sharing their heat and her rut.
Maybe now they can be proper mates maybe the patterns were holding Rumi back and they're right... but not like they think.
Rumi is a lot more touchy feely like skin to skin touchy feely.
Scheduled cuddles piles and scent marking? No, Everyday cuddle piles and surprise scent marking.
Rumi is clingy as hell, for years she had to listen to her demon side whine about "to properly mark her pack with her scent she needed to touch skin to skin, she needed to stay close to them" now she is free to let her demon side run wild without fear of her patterns being revealed.
During heats ZoeMira waits for any signals of sexual desire from Rumi, but she is happy just giving them massages and cooking for them, she is at their beck and call.
Not gonna lie is very flattering, having the #1 bachelor Alpha under their command... the power is intoxicating.
But even so!
Mira has been in love with this alpha idiot since the day that her parents came for her during their traine days, they just wanted to marry her off to a new business partner fifteen years her senior. Rumi stood beside her since the car arrived and stayed quiet letting Mira fight her personal demons until her shitty dad slapped her and she froze all training gone from her mind memories of pain and punishment flooding back, she come back when she hear Rumi beastial growl, Rumi went full feral on his ass and only stopped when Celine tore her away.
Zoey fell in love in the first month bc Rumi's behavior was everything she ever dreamed and more, she was kind, gentle, she listened to her rambles and while it was scheduled her scenting never felt forced. She never laughs at her or treated her like an idiot when her adh brain was making things harder, she never acted as knothead when her emotion makes Zoey lose control of her scent.
They showed their interest but Rumi doesn't get it, they followed the protocol bc they thought that was rumi wanted but it wasn't working, all the attempts are dismissed as "friendly behavior" or "pack behavior"
They are this 🤏 close to walking to her room fully naked.
Then one day the third sunlight sister comes to visit and suddenly Rumi's behavior makes sense.
Zoe and Mira are stunned seeing hardass strict alpha Celine became a lovesick puppy in the presence of her packmate.
She devotes her whole being in taking care of Kim.
She is cooking Kimmie favorites, she is lavishing her with love and affection so openly, scenting her every chance she can.
Kim sitting: "God, my feet hurt"
Celine without second thought drops everything she was holding and kneels to massage her: "I told you, heels are unnecessary..." Proceeds to nag her but her voice is so soft.

Celine says proudly and Rumi just nods like that makes sense. Poppy just sighs with a tired but amused smile and looks at them.
Suddenly Zoey gets a flashback of all the Sunlight sisters interviews, shows and events and lights are shining upon her.
Everything makes sense, it's like looking at a mirror.

Rumi grew up with Celine doting Kim rotten every single day and when she asked "why". Celine picked her up and told her about the bond that the hunters pack had, the care and love carved so deeply in their soul by the hoonmoon.
When she met Miyeong and Kim she felt like everything fell in place inside her soul, how her alpha instinct told her to protect, to hold, to care, to love.
So that was what she did.
Her teacher encouraged her, she became the leader not bc alphas are stronger or smarter.
It was bc Alphas life duty was to protect their pack.
There was nothing more powerful more dangerous than an Alpha with something to protect.
After Miyeong's death, she and Kimmie hold each other through the pain and lost. They need to raise Rumi, they need to fulfill this last task for miyeong, for a time they stay together but work has to be done and Hoonmoon needs strength.
So Kim worked as a soloist, touring through the world sealing ruptures and Celine stayed behind building the ground for the next hunters and raising Rumi among the memories of her deceased packmate.
(The memories of her faults and fears, it was her who failed in her duty to protect)
She did her best, fighting through the industry bias, and her own pain and guilt.
(Still wasn't enough, she was never enough)
She prayed and begged to the hoonmon that Rumi presented as Beta, at least that way her instincts and hormones won't be so strong.
(She prayed more, kneeling at the tree begging to the Hoonmoon to let her daughter grow up free of the hunter burden)
But luck was never by her side and Rumi was always meant to protect.
(Rumi's looks and personality are too similar to her Eomeoni and Eomma, but her heart was like her Appa and her soul was too much like her Maman.
Willing to destroy themselves to save their beloved)
Celine told Rumi that she had to keep certain distance from her future packmates, keep some limits and rules bc of her patterns, this was for their and hers safety.
She didn't know how the Demon biology will affect her instinct, demons (supposedly) don't have any designation.
So, she didn't want Rumi to be a feral alpha.
(She had antecedents because she was a feral child a total gremlin but Miyeong also was a little feral and very weird so she wasn't sure if it was the demon genes or the Ryu genes, better safe than sorry)
Rumi was sad but promised to keep her distance, it was her duty to protect her packmates.
She was going to be the best, bc they deserve the best.
(And maybe if she was good enough they won't be so mad for her lies, maybe they would let her stay after shes is cleansed)
Then she met Mira and broke the promise immediately.
Bc her alpha Instinct said protect, care and hold.
(Her demon side said destroy what dared to hurt her, keep her safe, keep her, she is yours forever)
Celine was angry for like two seconds before she resigned bc her alpha Instinct also went haywire when she saw the clearly signs of abuse in her new (pup) charge so she couldn't blame Rumi.
She just made a new PowerPoint with a list of safe interactions and Rumi was happy to follow.
Mira was wary of them, even if Celine helped to get out of the hands of her shitty family and to make sense of the things she always was capable of seeing under the corner of her eye.
She wasn't stupid or naive.
Nothing was free.
Celine an alpha, had all the power in her hands.
Ryu Rumi is a Nepo baby, so she is 100% sure that she also is a spoiled brat and a knothead alpha.

It is hard, Mira has a sharp tongue, she is fire all consuming.
Rumi's tolerance is tested again and again and she tries to be patient but sometimes things get so bad that she needs space to clean her mind and treat her wounds.
Mira smiles smug, thinking she won.

But barely an hour later Rumi comes to her, a daffodil and a red rose in her hands.
Mira is frozen, the young alpha lets the flowers beside her.
"Sorry for being too pushy but just know I'm not leaving you, I will come back, I won't leave alone, you won't ever be alone again I promise"
She leaves with a weird but so kind smile.
Mira waits for her to come back, wait for the insults, the screaming, the anger but only finds two flowers and an image of an earnest girl doing her best.
Maybe she can be nicer... just because being in guard all day is so tiring.

The older woman just nods and leaves the room in search of her best porcelain.
The dinner that day is all Mira favorites, extra spicy.
When Mira takes a bite and lets out a satisfied huff she pretends to not see the proud smile showing in the young alpha face and she rolls her eyes bc of course even sweating from the heat Rumi looks ethereal.
Figures.
If she fills her glass it is bc she was closer to the jug not because she wanted to help or anything.

When left with a half-demon child, Celine decides to take advantage of the creature's nature and raise it as a weapon.
