What dialect of English uses "tick" for sleeping gear?! Tack, maybe, but that's more like a sleeping bag (and more horsey, tbh)! Neither American nor British English have that one!

Please don't rely on old dictionaries/thesauruses, because let's say that was a VERY unpleasant sentence to read! Just keep it simple, sometimes!

I think it’s odd how many canonically religious characters are head canoned with religious trauma. I understand people like to project onto their favorites, but sometimes I can’t help but think, “can someone please let this character be held by their faith instead of harmed by it for once?”

#character: Doctor Rebecca Brown #I mean. she has some stuff she has to relearn/remember but in her defense she did lose a Lot #and then she had the weight of her world on her shoulders #interestingly enough her having to defend her faith and think about it again actually grows it more and helps reignite it #and this book has helped me with that too #God uses the funniest things

I don't know, I'd say reading seven submissions in one day is pretty good for someone who's been procrastinating.

#mine has I think at least three errors in terms of punctuation/format but I'm curious what the shop thinks of the wholesale thing #five left to go #I'm concerned that some of these people have 'award winner' of some sort in their introductory snippet. girl what did you win???#maybe this is just their early stages of writing (again I thought these had to be polished??) that they later refine into these winners

Free writing tip: Please do not use different-sized fonts in your writing. Different fonts can be used for internal monologue (I guess), but I'm not personally fond of it right out the gate. To me, it feels unprofessional because the reader hasn't had enough of a chance to get into your world to know what it's breaking from, and I've only seen it successfully used for major scene/POV changes.

If your writing is already in first-person, you're going to want to break that internal, separate thought from the general flow-of-consciousness into its own paragraph to help signal to the reader what's going on. I'd recommend using the same font in italic without quotation marks for a character's internal thoughts, broken from the main paragraph as you would for dialogue.
