I did remmember Tombs of Atuan to be a very good book. What I did not remmember is the absolute gold of a scene where Tenar despairs that her gods are dead and Ged tells her really calmly "No, don't worry, it's alright, your gods are alive! I know because they are actively trying to kill me just now :)"

i used to work for a nature center and we would constantly have wild owls come and call out to the owls in their cages and try to 1.) get them to follow them or 2.) they were looking for a mate

Not only did they bring him food, they kept brings smaller bits of food like they thought he was unable to eat them whole, and then in a worried mother way they also tried to shove the food into his front of his camera cuz they thought it was his open mouth.
