Sometimes I think about Olly finding out about the promise and how Qifrey has been living in this tormented existence *for him*. And yes, I think he would feel incredibly guilty (and relieved that Qifrey kept that promise in the first place).
But you know what I think would hurt him worse?
When he finds out that Qifrey, through the trauma and the horrible reality of his existence, has warped the situation into being *all his own fault*.
Can you imagine? Olly is aware enough to realize that him making Qifrey promise to stay alive by repeatedly taking his memories was a special kind of torture for him. He knows that this was an incredibly selfish and cruel demand. The minute he knows about it, he wouldn’t hesitate to beg forgiveness.
But imagine Qifrey beats him to the punch. Just- falls to his knees, voice shaking, as he says he understands if Olly can’t forgive him. That he doesn’t know why he keeps on doing so. That he doesn’t deserve that kindness from Olly.
And Olly has to sit there and realize just how much this has so deeply affected Qifreys perception of himself and their relationship. He’s suddenly confronted with how living like this has made Qifrey loathe himself so completely.
I think that would hurt him more than anything else about this situation.

i was talking to friends who's main view of tumblr is that everything is sexualized on here. and when i said i do see that i also know that the most vocal groups of asexuals are on tumblr. eventually i realized how much of tumblr was de-sexualizing sex. like just saw a post of a gifset of a sexy lady smoking and tying up hands with the reblog text "me putting the little tag back on the bread bag" and so many posts are like that. just saying or talking about some sex shit in a completely neutral non-sexual manner. I was going in loops around my head trying to figure out why it was like this, something about being so used to nudity and sex and that's not shocking or even sexy anymore, until circling back to the fact that tumblr is full of asexuals and maybe the most respectful place of them. it was then a saw a poll (a post I CANNOT find again for the life of me but it was some type of sexuality poll or something) and was shocked by just how many people answering it were asexual, until I remembered this and went. oh. so yes everything on tumblr is sexualized but not even for sexualization's sake or for sexual satisfaction. its for the bit

genuinely I'm so sick of people wanting all fiction to be ethical. can we all just get a little gross with it. the point of fiction is that it's not real. we can be unethical in fiction; same goes with being perverted with fiction, being unrealistic with fiction, and being grotesque with fiction. not all fiction has to be ethical, not every character has to be ethical, and that's okay. can we stop with the puritanism. be gross. be unrealistic. be whatever. if I don't like it it's not my business as long as we're all clear that its fictional.
