Hi, Pyro! Technically this is the same prompt as Cpy’s, but because Cpy asked for sword spirit Link/normal demon Ghirahim specifically, I decided to make this one about hero Ghirahim and Demise’s sword/demon commander Link! (I don’t think he’s posh enough to call himself demon lord XD).

Now, when it comes to Ghirahim’s hero attire, I think someone else already did a far better job than I ever could, so I decided to just design his skyloft outfit. (obviously I do not claim that my Ghirahim and theirs are the same/from the same AU).

I decided if Groose can have his bright red hair (and yellow lipstick), despite everyone else having naturally colored hair, Ghirahim can keep his unnatural colors too (also I think Fledge’s hair is a kind of desaturated light green? But I may be mistaken). His hairstyle is supposed to be a callback to his sword spirit form, and also he still has both of his ears. Maybe he’ll loose one in the final battle with Link or Demise :3

Oh, and I made his skintone by just drawing his canon skintone -> editing the hue away from green (to make it more human) -> bumping up the saturation so he wouldn’t look gray-ish.

(BTW, out of all the sky islands residents, only Link, Groose, and Orielle have earrings. So Ghirahim can have some too. Peatrice is the only one who has nail polish! So Ghirahim can have some too XD)

For Link I decided to stay on the ancient greek soldier theme, as I already designed his sword spirit look. I’m gonna be honest, I just didn’t feel like redesigning it to look more “villainous”, although I did turn the saturation down and made the gold more of a dark gold. Plus, I wanted to keep the green color, even though zelda villains don’t usually wear bright colors that are not red or purple. Anyway, while I was looking for cuirass references it struck me that, with the tunic it kind of looked like Fierce Deity, so I decided to lean into it!

I also made a shield for him, but I haven’t put much thought into the design to be honest. And the sword is just the sword of the hero from botw/totk, except I made the pommel diamond shaped. His own Sword Form is mostly a fusion of Ghirahim’s and Fierce Deity’s swords.

It’s very important to me that even in this AU Ghirahim is still an asshole. Why Hylia chose him is anyone’s guess XD Groose would probably find bullying him very hard and annoying lmao.

By definition you can't accidentally queerbait. Queerbaiting is specifically using a same sex pair from the show to market the show to queer audiences with no intention of ever following through on a romantic relationship.

There is officially licensed Destiel merch signed off on by Kripke. Teen Wolf had a commercial with the actors for Derek and Stiles draped over each other talking about being "on a ship." Both shows actively used scenes between them as marketing while actively mocking fans for wanting them together. Sherlock has multiple characters refer to Johnlock as a couple, including characters we're supposed to believe are never wrong about human behavior and pushed those scenes in marketing. Then they acted insulted when fans saw them as a couple.
