Pokemon and Zelda are two of my favorite things. Currently obsessing over Hoenn boys OT3.
I'm a hobby artist. Pokémon and Zelda are two of my favorite things, so you can expect to see a lot of fanart for those two series. I tend to obsess over one thing for a while, but I have other interests that may sneak into my art from time to time. And on rare occasions, I might even draw some original art!
I use this blog mainly for sharing finished artwork, but I'll also sometimes post sketch dumps and respond to asks related to my art. I don't want to clutter this blog with reblogs, so if you don't want to miss anything, I recommend clicking on the "get notifications" button for this blog or following my main blog.

I try to avoid discourse and drama, but since I like to draw characters kissing, I have unsurprisingly received asks about character ages and whether or not certain characters should be allowed to kiss, and I'm sure I'll get more. I know people have compared pokemas models and iirc Wallace is shorter than Volo (who has a canon height of 190 cm) and probably closer to being just under 6'. But Wallace feels tall to me, so I like to give him a few extra inches, as a treat.

I'm so sorry. I haven't been able to draw in a while. I've been burnt out/art blocked for probably a year or more at this point. The few drawings I did manage to squeeze out did not come easily. However, I'm now off work for the summer so after I flop around and rest for a day or two, I might have the time/energy to try and ease myself back into drawing. I can't guarantee anything, but I do really want to draw Wallace again, so maybe I can get some mermaid AU ideas onto a canvas while I'm at it.
I'm glad that you're interested in the AU though. Tbh I wasn't sure if anyone cared to see more of it. I think I've only talked in detail about it to one other person. Unfortunately, I have a disease that prevents me from talking about my blorbo thoughts unless someone specifically asks to hear them (still working on this...)
Also, regarding the art block, I think part of the problem is that I'm lacking inspiration. I've been trying to read more, so I'm gonna end this ask with an ask of my own: Can you guys recommend me mermaid books? I'm not too picky, but it def needs to have interesting characters and good world building. (doesn't have to be mermaids either, anything in the fantasy genre works) The last couple books I read were The Everlasting and This Is How You Lose the Time War and they were both fantastic! Any recs are appreciated! <3
Since I came up with a team for Lisia, I figured I should decide on May's team as well. It's mostly the same as her ORAS rival team, but I switched out Wailord for Relicanth and then added Solrock.
I talked about wanting to give Lisia a Pokemon for each contest category in a previous post, so here's the full team! Since her Altaria canonically has a nickname, my discord buddies helped me come up with names for all her new friends: Ali the Altaria, Stella the Clefairy, Lovelace the Girafarig, Gabby the Mawile, and Logan the Zangoose.
And for funsies, here's a little info about each new mon (under the cut.)
Stella the Clefairy was the first new addition. After Lisia watched Brendan's contest performances in Fallarbor, she accompanied Brendan and May to Meteor Falls. It was love at first sight when she laid eyes on the adorable Clefairy dancing around without a care in the world. May suggested that she try to catch it. Lisia had never considered catching other Pokemon since she was perfectly content only having Ali by her side, but at this point, her contest career had begun to stagnate, so she welcomed the opportunity to shake things up. She was also inspired by Brendan's choice to use a different Pokemon for each contest category. So with May's help, she caught her first new friend since Ali.
I haven't put too much thought into Stella's personality yet. So far, I'm thinking she might be a "no thoughts, head empty" kinda gal who's just blissfully enjoying life.
Logan the Zangoose was the second new addition. So. My dumb ass thought that Zangoose could be found on the route that goes to Lillycove (the one with the really tall grass.) I had been coming up with the details of this encounter with that in mind. But I just checked and Zangoose is actually found right outside Meteor Falls... So I guess she catches Logan right after Stella lol.
Anyway, just like that silly doodle from the previous post (linked above), Lisia approached what she thought was a cute, fluffy little guy, but it was actually a vicious Zangoose who did not appreciate his nap being disturbed. Brendan and May stepped in before Lisia got mauled. Still riding the high of catching Clefairy, Lisia announced that she wanted the angy, fluffy boy. Brendan and May initially said no because they were both aware of how difficult handling this Pokemon could be even for a regular trainer let alone a contest coordinator with no battle experience. Lisia turned on the charm and the sad Lillipup eyes, but May didn't budge. However, Brendan caved easily, and after a quick battle, Logan joined Lisia's team.
The grumpy Zangoose was not happy about being caught by a preppy contest idol. He's difficult at first, but it doesn't take too long for Lisia to impress him in her own way and earn his respect. He eventually warms up to her, but it's very much in a tsundere kind of way. At that point, he becomes fiercely protective of her.
Gabby the Mawile was next. After the Kyogre incident, Brendan was going through a rough patch, so the girls were spending more time with him to cheer him up. They were mostly doing fieldwork during this time. On their way to Granite Cave, they ran into Steven. He had heard about Lisia's growing team and didn't want to feel left out, so he offered to help her catch a Pokemon as well. Lisia wasn't too thrilled at the thought of potentially leaving the cave with a rock as a new partner. Luckily for her, they crossed paths with the most gorgeous badass girlboss to ever bring men to their knees with one flip of her studded steel ponytail. Mawile was easily a Lisia and Steven approved catch.
Gabby is pretty calm and laid back on the surface, but she used to be in roving girl gang that terrorized Hoenn before retiring to Dewford. She's definitely killed a guy. Maybe even two. But it's cool. She's chill now.
I settled on Clefairy, Zangoose, and Mawile pretty quickly, but coming up with the last mon was pretty tricky. Mainly because whatever I chose needed to be a good fit for cleverness contests since that was the only remaining category. After looking through the ORAS Pokedex and many different learnsets, I landed on Girafarig.
Even though Wallace (probably) already helped Lisia catch her Altaria when it was still a Swablu, he insisted on helping her find the final puzzle piece to complete her team. He just happened to join her while the trio was headed to the Safari Zone. After a fun Safari adventure, Lovelace the Girafarig joined Lisia's team. (Sorry, I'm running out of steam. Maybe I'll expand on this idea more later.)
I haven't fleshed out Lovelace's personality much yet. I'll have to think on it some more.
And that's Lisia's contest team! It was fun to think about which Pokemon would suit her best, and I figured it would be cute if a different person helped her catch each new mon. I also love having an excuse to design more contest outfits, and Lisia is such a cute model to work with.

A while ago someone asked who I'd ship Wally with and I wasn't sure at the time, but then someone in my discord suggested Zinnia and I kinda loved it. Wally falling for the girl who kicked his ass and stole his mega stone is super funny.
I've personally never viewed Norman as a bigoted bad dad (especially after the anime version), I've always seen Norman actually *BEING* gay but having absolutely no idea that he is until after a mental meltdown that makes go: "... Oh."
And then has to re-contextualize his entire life from scratch.
Pokemon characters typically leave a lot of room for interpretation so everyone is going to have a different take based on their experiences and whether or not they watched the anime, read the manga, or just played the games. I never watched the anime past the first couple of seasons, but I read the manga and liked Norman's characterization, so I took a lot of inspiration from that and made him worse.
But it's cool to see how other people approach different characters. Norman going through a mid-life crisis and gay awakening combo could lead to some interesting drama too. It would certainly explain why he spends so much time at work instead of going home to his wife.

idk but I think Norman isn't angry with Wallace for the crop top and skirt for Brendan, he just feels left out because neither of them invited him to join in or got him one lol.
I typically prefer to headcanon Norman as a shitty bigoted dad for the drama (and to give Brendan some trauma) but that's a fun idea too lol.

Tbh, I hadn't developed this trio as much (since I'm usually thinking about ChampionSuccessionShipping, and I wasn't sure if I wanted the 100thShipping dynamic to exist in the same universe) so thanks for giving me an opportunity to flesh this dynamic out a bit.
Basically, Lisia and May are a couple, and Brendan is perfectly content being a third wheel, but the girls often insist that he join them as something more. (I saw this post the other day that fits the vibe pretty well lol) I'll go into more detail under the cut, but here's some art first!
For starters, I've decided that 100thShipping gets to exist in the same universe as ChampionSuccessionShipping because that's more entertaining to me. So all of my usual Hoenn boys headcanons apply. I had already decided pretty early on that Steven and Wallace had a pretty open relationship, so Brendan's allowed to have a little fun on the side.
I already talked a bit about May and Lisia in this post (but I've decided that May and Lisia first meet in Slateport instead of Fallarbor because I'm impatient.) After becoming neighbors, May and Brendan initially bond through Pokedex related research and fieldwork and end up traveling together often, which leads to them becoming fast friends. Brendan and Lisia mainly connect through their love of contests. When May and Lisia meet through Brendan, they hit it off instantly.
May is laid back, down to earth, and a little weird, so Brendan finds her very easy to talk to. May admires Brendan's seemingly natural battling skills and hopes that she can learn a thing or two from him and get stronger.
Brendan is drawn to Lisia's effortless confidence both on and off stage. Lisia loves finding a hidden gem and seeing how it shines under the right light, and she's certain that she's found something special when she scouts Brendan. She can see his potential and the passion he keeps hidden, and she's excited to squeeze it out of him (she and Wallace have this in common.) She means well, but she often comes on too strong and is a lot for Brendan to handle (another thing she has in common with Wallace.)
May and Lisia are both free spirits and weird girls who want to have fun. May can list off her favorite off-putting Pokemon facts, and Lisia can recount her wildest encounters in the contest hall dressing rooms, and it only makes them fall harder for each other. They also enjoy doing a little mischief together, which often includes testing Brendan's boundaries and seeing how flustered they can get him.
May and Lisia come from families where physical affection is incredibly normal. They're not shy about hugs, kisses, and cuddling. Brendan is actually pretty comfortable receiving physical affection from women (but he gets easily flustered by men because his mom gave him hugs and his dad didn't) so he's not too bothered with the clearly platonic displays of affection. However, the girls (Lisia especially) have a very different idea of what is considered normal platonic physical affection, and they also just think it's fun to test his limits. It takes some time, but Brendan does eventually warm up to the girls' preferred level of casual intimacy.
Personally, I'm a big fan of friends being intimate or having casual sex and it not being weird, so I've injected a lot of that energy into their dynamic. For the most part, Brendan's relationship with the girls is platonic, but sometimes the line between platonic and romantic/sexual blurs. At first, Brendan is very confused when the girls blur that line as he's unaware of the concept of polyamory. The girls have to reassure him that messing around won't ruin the girls' relationship.
Some other random headcanons: Lisia is the tallest. She's 5'7 (170.2 cm) (Brendan is 5'6 (167.6 cm) and May is 5'2 (157.5 cm)) Lisia is also the oldest at 19. (Brendan and May are both 17)
I feel like I'm all over the place, and this is getting long, so that's probably enough for now, but first, here's a bit more info about the sketches:
Image 1: Whenever they camp out or stay at a Pokemon Center, Brendan usually ends up in the middle of the cuddle pile. He doesn't mind, but it confuses him. He assumes that the girls would want to sleep next to each other since they're dating. May and Lisia do like cuddling each other, but they like stealing Brendan's body heat more.

Image 3: These three are always looking out for each other in different ways. Brendan tends to be more socially awkward and prefers to avoid confrontation over little things, but May refuses to let her bestie be a doormat and will happily rip into someone on his behalf. (However, the girls aren't as confident in more serious/dangerous situations, so that's usually when Brendan will step in.)
Image 4: Lisia has no fear and sometimes this is a problem. She is often a liability when she joins them during their fieldwork. After I drew this one, I decided that Lisia should convince Brendan to help her catch that Zangoose.
Image 5: At some point after I came up with Brendan's contest costumes, I thought it would be cute to give Lisia a Clefairy and design a costume to match. This is a first draft of that costume. Once Brendan hits master rank and becomes a popular contest star, he and Lisia get the chance to duet. (May is of course cheering both of them on)

The Zangoose and the Clefairy got me brainstorming what other Pokemon would suit Lisia. As much as Lisia loves showing off how versatile her Altaria is, seeing Brendan train a different Pokemon for each contest category inspires her to do the same. She's not particularly good at catching her own Pokemon, but May and Brendan are happy to help. I haven't decided on her other two mons, but I'm heavily leaning towards Mawile (matching ponytails hehe) and then I was thinking that maybe May could give her Mudkip (the leftover starter.) There's a very real chance that I end up designing contest costumes for Lisia once I decide which pokemon she gets.

I feel like I've drawn less and less the past few months. I'm always in a perpetual state of burnout, so I don't draw that much to begin with, but it feels like motivation has been exceptionally low lately. Tbf the end of the year is a busy time and trying to make that hat with no pattern and almost no sewing knowledge made me a little insane. But as I was looking through my previous posts, I remembered there was a specific moment where my motivation took a nose dive and never really recovered.
I know I mostly draw self-indulgent things that probably won't get much interaction, and I'm mostly fine with that. However. You know when you work on something soooo self-indulgent that it's almost embarrassing and you feel like you need some kind of validation so you don't feel like a fool for pouring your soul into it and being so giddy about it. And then when you put the work out there and it gets almost no interaction, the prophecy is fulfilled and you just kinda die inside.
So. Yeah. That wasn't great for my mental health, but that's how it goes sometimes. I'll be fine. My motivation will return eventually. I might try to fill some of the pkmn kink meme prompts. I figure something low stakes and simple might help me break through the art block. I also have an ask I want to answer. But other than that, idk what I really want to work on, so I guess I'll just go through WIPs and see if anything reignites my desire to draw.

I appreciate that you guys are interested in my silly thoughts, and I love responding to the asks (even if it takes me a while sometimes.) When it makes sense to do so, I put a lot of thought into my responses and treat it like a conversation, so you guys are welcome to add to the conversation in the comments if you want.
