I got up to Dr Who's first christmas special in my season 3 rewatch

Seven's speech to Ace that became iconic for its sendoff to Classic Who was so beautifully written and so full of wonder, "worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream. people made of smoke and cities made of song," is the kind of Weird Shit that Classic Who was built on. It evoked curiosity, creativity, and originality. It made the show feel like it still had stories to tell, that characters still had lives to live. Come on Ace, we've got work to do.

the whole black guardian trilogy is so good. it's just like doing normal doctor who stories but occasionally it cuts to Turlough on his knees speaking into his magic crystal like O master please spare my soul, I will kill the Doctor I just need a little more time to fulfill my dreadful vow and then the Black Guardian manifests like never!! never!! the torture of a thousand knives and scorpions be upon you for your insolence! and Turlough starts screaming and writhing on the floor of the TARDIS in agonies and then the music goes beeble beeble boop and it cuts to the Doctor being like hmm time to reverse a polarity i think
