Wisps of Lucidity

This quote from my current read hit hard.

That moment when everything is hazy and the only thing in focus is you. A realization that you matter despite the opinions of others. That being authentically you is more important than being palatable. Frankly speaking life is too short to waste time and energy trying to fit into others boxes. It’s too short to apologize for something that isn’t serving you. It is your right to have boundaries to protect your peace against anyone or anything. Be you simply because that is your purpose. Be unapologetically yourself walking through this life proudly knowing you are doing your best. Those who love you will walk beside you and the rest can fall away. All the while you can rest in the fact that you didn’t bend to accommodate those who were temporary fixtures. Yes, you will have times that feel like failures, but know they are lessons. Know that you are worthy of this life. Let no one tell you or make you feel otherwise.

It’s never too late to be who you want to be. You can reinvent yourself until it feels like home. That’s the beauty of this gift called life.

This hit home. So often someone can throw negativity and the stab is deep. Often we forget that no one has lived our life nor walked in our shoes. We are who we are and that’s what makes us unique. No one has the right to judge us. It’s hard to be mindful of this since at least for me my own insecurities and negativity cloud my mind at times.

No matter what may come into your life seeking to destroy you never let it win. Fight to stay alive and be the flower that breaks through the concrete.
