Alchemised continues to make the most boring possible choices with its extremly interesting concept spoilers ahead (I'm like on page 260)
Aurelia is an interesting character - on paper. Someone who's only created to be impregnated by a man who doesn't touch her. Who isnt loved by her family and who stands alone in a system which is stacked against her. What does alchemised do with her? Make her into a villainess who only exists to take the blame for the bad treatment Mc receives in her early imprisonment
Shroud - oh what you could have been! A vivimant who got persecuted by the system and grew loyal to a monster because they treated her right - the potential to be a dark mirror to Helen was right there. But no. She has to be needlessly cruel. She has to revel in the fact that the Mc is getting raped. Every potential parallel is wasted
And why does alchemised waste its premise. Because it's committed to the fact that Kaine Ferron is a special boy who never did anything wrong ever while simultaneously wanting him to be a dark edgy dangerous guy Helen has to be vary of. It's already so obvious that he's a victim in this. But we will have to wait until Helena catches up to this (probably on page 999)
Also Helena is becoming less and less interesting by the minute. She has no plan. She just suffers. And than ferron can take care of her. And she can be mad about it. It's exhausting. I think I give this book another 100 pages to do anything ANYTHING interesting and if it's continuing on this course I'm outta here.
