I think for a while now in Dean's mind, every bed he sleeps in there's his side and Cas's side and he never says it out loud but it's just a fact and it doesn't matter that Cas has never actually slept in a bed beside him, half his bed still belongs to Cas. I also think he'll start off sleeping on his side of the bed and slowly he'll curl into Cas's side as the night progresses until he wakes up firmly on Cas's side clutching at empty sheets. And this happens in every single bed he's ever slept in since around season eight. That's why he has two lamps in the bunker.

i do think we should normalise being like. platonically enamoured with someone. perhaps i love and admire you dearly and there's nothing romantic about it

"maybe if [shippers of gay ship] had behaved, their ship would be canon by now" is such a common remark (especially common with queerbait ships and ships suffering from corporate censorship) that i don't think people realize how insidious and homophobic it is. cause they never just mean the loud assholes or fans who genuinely behave in toxic ways. they mean everyone who dares to bring up queercoding and storylines to anyone involved with that piece of media. anyone who talks about it in a public online space too much without adding a hundred caveats. if only every single fan of that ship behaved perfectly (read: if they'd shut up about it), they'd get what they want. an intrinsic impossibility. it intentionally exaggerates both the actual impact fans can have on storytelling and the amount of bad actors in a subset of fandom. it shames fans for caring. it tells them: your desire for representation and queer joy or even love of romance disgusts me. how dare you care this much so openly?
