It’s kind of funny yet heart-wrenching to read Edward’s yearning to be human for Bella in Midnight Sun, because I think if Bella had the choice between her and Edward both being humans or both being vampires, she’d still choose vampirism.

I’ve never read twilight but I am currently spiraling down a rabbit hole of academic papers about meyer’s mormon themes in the saga and it’s kind of amazing

I can’t be the only one who totally wanted Bella to eat that rock climber when she became a vampire. When Edward was like Wow! You walked away from blood mid hunt! Even experienced vampires struggle with that! That was such bullshit. I wanted Bella to shred that rock climber

twilight is like okay yeah. the love you need is right where you are. it’s right where you grew up and nursed skinned knees and threw rocks across an open stream. this is the love that feeds you, that makes you dinner when you can’t reach the stove. you do not want this love. you never did. you don’t deserve it, you think. because you can’t possibly stomach it. can’t possibly be expected to heal when all you have ever known is patching your mother’s wounds. you’d rather have the love that cuts you open. you’d rather swallow glass than water. you have no want to be full. you want to be bleeding. you do not deserve this. you have two hearts. you still die in the end, with neither, of course. that’s how the story goes. the girl who really didn’t ever have a choice to begin with.

I loved that part in twilight where it ended with eclipse and then no other canon continuation to the series was ever written. <3
