It has an amazing and clear imo emotional arc when cleaned to this.

McCartney has a habit of first baring his soul…then balking at that and trying to cover his raw soul back up with a safe blanket of commercial output. He’s so monstrously good at commercial hits that this is a terribly effective denial mechanism for him. The commercial hits of this were the Stevie Wonder collabs. No offense to Stevie Wonder, but removing them helps the album’s emotional cohesion immensely. McCartney also runs away after the emotional peak of the album. Wanderlust is the true end…what follows is just McCartney running back away from his emotions.

a- shared sickest riff on earth. extra shout-out to paul for also stealing a lil from george on the lyrics. yes bring him into your drama even after the breakup. you know you could form a band if you wanted to write with them or something.

b- we're both really heterosexually happy and doing well with our beautiful wives who saved us from a life of loveless loneliness and to prove it we're gonna sing the exact same song but one's country and the other is that slowed down but the most beautiful love song anyone's ever written so of course it's about yoko ono

c- it's the 70s and we both need to sound like it. you need to hear this and go oh fuck it's the 70s. one of them is about the insanity we went through together and the other one is about my wife but it's also a little bit about my gay situationship and I'm gonna make sure he knows that by stealing his intro and referencing his fuckass band
