Song analysis bc why not!
-more like an interpretation this time-
Monkberry moon delight
(but with a little twist: John pov)
You're John Lennon and you're listening to ram for the first time. You're already pretty worked up because the album started with 3 diss tracks definitely aimed at you: "Too Many People", "3 Legs" and "Dear Boy". They left a strong impression on you but because it's the first time you're hearing them you have already half-forgotten what they sounded like except for some poignant lyrics. To say they left you feeling agitated is a euphemism.

This is the most amazing podfic I have ever listened to. Factory Settings is one of the best fics period, and it hits even harder now after the disappointments of Season 3. I notice even more now all the threads it weaves in from S1&2, highlighted now by how ignored there were by S3. What a mystery this fic is too, coming out by Anonymous do soon after S2.
But this rec SPECIFICALLY is for the podfic, which is as good as the best professional audiobooks. The voice performances! The sound effects! Itâs astonishingly good. So much kudos to this masterpiece.
Yes, the love songs are of course on totally different material! The song about the Two, McCartney and the decades long friend in his dreams, and this other random love song about *checks* the heartbreaker who he never knows the state of who has him on the run while he seeks love and peace.

Gonna finally get a therapist just so I have someone to vent to about the Good Omens finale.
He fucking wrote that his god damn self
iâm so glad that iwtv is brave enough to show real queer joy in these timesâ nobody dies of aids, no queerbaiting, just happy, escapist media about gay people in incestuous relationships with their transmasc mothers, gay people beating up and murdering each other, and the queer joy of finally allowing yourself to be a drug addled rock star haunted by your past
2026 superwholock equivalent is Heated Rivalry, Interview With The Vampire, and somehow still Supernatural
certified beatles post
I feel like this would have made them break up much sooner because of the toxic polycule that John, Paul and purple Ringo inevitably would form.

Can I fucking help you?
my senior english teacher told me that any scene with a woman in a cornfield in every piece of literature ever is about her journey to womanhood/pleasuring herself in the field and i just.... believed her

Q. Did you have John Lennon in mind [when you wrote âTug of Warâ]?
âPAUL: No.
But halfway through it, John was killed. I canât believe it to this day, I canât even say those words... But âHere Todayâ is the only song specifically about that. Obviously, âTug of Warâ ties in. And so does âSomebody Who Cares.â I remember being aware of Johnâs death while writing it.
ââPaul McCartney Looks Back,â Newsweek, May 3, 1982
IâŚ. My dear man. You changed your answer mid-responseâŚ.you confirm itâs about John as your protesting that it is not about.. John.
He needs to be anesthetized.
Here is my cut of the Tug of War album.
It has an amazing and clear imo emotional arc when cleaned to this.
McCartney has a habit of first baring his soulâŚthen balking at that and trying to cover his raw soul back up with a safe blanket of commercial output. Heâs so monstrously good at commercial hits that this is a terribly effective denial mechanism for him. The commercial hits of this were the Stevie Wonder collabs. No offense to Stevie Wonder, but removing them helps the albumâs emotional cohesion immensely. McCartney also runs away after the emotional peak of the album. Wanderlust is the true endâŚwhat follows is just McCartney running back away from his emotions.
So many hot takes haha, I hope you enjoy.

john and paul being the most annoying people on earth exhibits a-c
a- shared sickest riff on earth. extra shout-out to paul for also stealing a lil from george on the lyrics. yes bring him into your drama even after the breakup. you know you could form a band if you wanted to write with them or something.
b- we're both really heterosexually happy and doing well with our beautiful wives who saved us from a life of loveless loneliness and to prove it we're gonna sing the exact same song but one's country and the other is that slowed down but the most beautiful love song anyone's ever written so of course it's about yoko ono
c- it's the 70s and we both need to sound like it. you need to hear this and go oh fuck it's the 70s. one of them is about the insanity we went through together and the other one is about my wife but it's also a little bit about my gay situationship and I'm gonna make sure he knows that by stealing his intro and referencing his fuckass band
what will it be, boss? the comfort of misery or the pain of change?
if I were an English teacher I would print this out and put it onto the wall next to a "reading is poggers" poster
