i get that speedy's been pretty unambiguously babyface in aew but they've literally worked heel tons. meanwhile kevin hasnt rly worked heel at all but ppl are more ready to believe him as evil? lets look inward abt that one maybe

adding onto this to offer more insight into kevin as a heel. like banjoe said, kevin has never truly been a heel before. at best he has had tweener tendencies, which we have seen in his bosj31 run and in the buildup to the 4way tag ladder match at wrestle kingdom.

the important thing to note here is that during these moments, kevin only started acting tweener after being pushed to his limits and losing control of his emotions as well as coming out as a reaction to others underestimating him.

this is seen especially in his growing aggression during bosj31, where even clark comments on kevin "showing a little edge." and when kevin begins to attack before the bell even rings. also, in the lead up to the ladder match kevin laments that people think just because he's nice, it doesn't mean he can't act dirty and sink down to a certain level. but even so after this match, he doesnt fully turn heel? the aggression and emotions were personal and had purpose. afterwards, he was back to being generally honorable and respectful as a babyface.

tldr: this is a new side of kevin we are seeing!!

thank u kevin scholar for your insights!!!! i'm really excited to see where he takes it from here! a new direction is rly fun and hes very capable of exploring it. im just also frustrated about the reactions to kev heel turn and jetspeed overall, and part of this is me being a heelball scholar so i like. have seen their heel work lol

but overall im just like. yknow frustrated that people r being reductive about Both of them and it makes me feel weird like the way that people participate in both infantilizing speedball & demonizing kevin. like hey the white nonbinary is also a grown adult with agency and the black guy is also a complex person with interiority #shocker #wow #surprise
