My name is Felysha, I’m the owner of Kaat’sáy which is a small fashion brand planted here on my reservation in New Mexico.

I specialize in patchwork, block printing, and machine embroidery, everything is made here in my home and everything that’s not completely made by me is bought second hand and given a new life.

For those who don’t know my name is Felysha and I’m the designer behind the small Indigenous fashion brand Kaat'sáy! I have a few shows lined up in New Mexico this summer but here are some photos and bts from my two recent shows including details from the masculine pieces I’m working on!! ✨🤎

I start calling hospital by hospital to see which one he was sent to and some of the hospitals didn’t take me seriously until I said he was my husband (not great for only 3 weeks of dating but I did what I had to do).

So I’m prefacing every phone call saying that I’m looking for my husband and when I called the last hospital, the operator asked for his birthdate (which I obviously didn’t know) and as I began to stutter thinking if he mentioned it, the operator goes “oh honey is this an arranged marriage?”

The line is silent for a few seconds and I just go “yes?”

And she responds “let me guess, he’s military?”

And a very quiet “mhm” comes out of my mouth, now he is a veteran so I didn’t technically lie.

The operator then says “that’s okay baby, times are tough.” Followed by a long awkward silence, only interrupted by “yeah no we don’t have anybody by that name at this hospital. But I hope you find him!”
