RIP Rob Ford (May 28, 1969 - March 22, 2016)
Aside from the terrible attacks in Brussels today, we also lost the former Toronto Mayor, who died at 46 years old, after an 18-month battle with cancer.
To commemorate the great man, here’s a rundown of some of his most infamous achievements:
Was caught on video buying crack (and calling Justin Trudeau a “fag”.)
Later admitted to smoking crack, “probably in one of my drunken stupors.”
Arm-wrestled Hulk Hogan (and won).
Was caught on video threatening “I’m going to kill that fucking guy. I’m telling you it’s first-degree murder. No holds barred, brother. He dies or I die, brother… When he’s down, I’ll rip his fucking throat out… I am a sick motherfucker, dude.”
Sprinted the full length of a city council meeting to push over one of his female colleagues.
Danced to Bob Marley at the City Council.
Said this in front of a room full of children: “I’m sick and tired of all these allegations and all this bullshit! Sorry, I guess I shouldn’t have sworn in front of the kids. You know what, I’ve made mistakes. I drank too much. I smoked some crack some time. What can I say?”
Shrugged off accusations of sexual harassment by simply saying “I’ve got more than enough to eat at home.”
On a single day, March 15th 2013, Ford was caught: drunk driving; consuming drugs; going on a racist tirade against Jews, blacks, and Italians; punching a friend in the face with a bag full of hamburgers; inviting other people to punch him; insulting his own mother; and inviting a guest to have sex with his wife.
And after all this, he still declared himself the best Mayor Toronto had ever had.
RIP in Peace, Rob Ford. Gone, but not forgotten.
