A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.
His response: "No, it's my name now."
I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.
Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.
Now Iāve got people thinking that when I say that TTRPG campaigns shouldnāt be scripted, that I mean that they must be 100% improvised right there on the spot with zero planning or structure. I canāt fucking win.
And therefore critical role must be destroyed
I think people are just so used to the idea that GM prep = writing out the exact sequence of events you want to happen in a session that the very suggestion that the GM shouldnāt simply dictate a sequence of events sounds to people like āno prep at all.ā
Anyway, listen up: itās possible to do prep without your prep being based on āwhat will happen in the session.ā You as a GM can plan places for your party to go and explore, or events that are currently taking place around them. The āwhat will happenā is what the group decides to do in those places and situations.
(where a lot of people go wrong in adventure design, and in fact this is reflective of the whole āthe GM plans the storyā philosophy, is that it can easily relegate the player characters to the role of onlookers to the actually interesting events taking place around them with no way for them to interact with those events because their interactions are often limited to āsometimes we gotta beat up some strangersā)

As someone whose taste in men includes crusty hot topic emos, Crow's new haircut was like 10 thousand 9/11s to me
What'd they- Oh no, nooo this is tragic. Give him his hair back!
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety internal email, a copy of which was sent to Dallas Voice through a local attorney, DPS has

Creating lists of undesirables is a Stage of Genocide.
itās so bizarre when animated American films are set in a certain location and then only certain characters have the accents of that place. It makes no damn sense!! like
WHY IS SHE MORE FRENCH THAN THE REST OF THEM???
WHY ARE THESE GUYS MORE SCOTTISH THAN THE KIDS??
(also, arenāt they Vikings or something?)
To be fair, almost everyone in Ratatouille does have a French accent. The real question is why Linguini and also all the rats sound intensely American
If it was just the rats Iād say itās because the movie can be interpreted to mean that the rats understand but donāt necessarily speak human languages so the rat dialog isnāt literally taking place the way we see it but that doesnāt explain why Linguini has a rat accent
LINGUINI HAS A RAT ACCENTĀ
Do we ever hear like
For sure that Linguini grew up in France tho?
It could be possible heās just an American immigrant
I mean his name is Alfredo Linguini so I always assumed he was Italian
Iām sorry his first name is Alfredo?
ALFREDO???
heās American you guys his mother was American it was mentioned in the beginning
Iām sorry, Iāve moved on to the fact his mother was going through her cupboard for baby names
Alfredo was a name before it was a sauce letās go over the movie from the top again
This is Alfredo di Lelio (right) the inventor of fettuccine Alfredo, heād come out to the table and make it in front of you by hand
The chap on the left is an airport
I think you might have your left and right mixed up, my friend
Great post everyone. Hit the showers.

Sometimes I think about lesbian icon renĆ©e vivien lauging so hard she had to leave a lecture bc the man was talking about how a book of anonymously published love poetry was the pinnacle depiction of a young manās desire towards womenā¦ā¦ but it was her book. She wrote it. About her girlfriend.
Sheās the one on the left.Ā
She IS and Iām obsessed with this image but how could you leave out that the one on the right is the girlfriend in question
I figured it was obvious from the gaze
Was thinking about something that reminded me Tumblr exists. Now I remember that I was avoiding it cause I need to clean my blogs. Why do I have some of these blogs, why am I following all these dead blogs, how do I get this notification icon to go away?

I miss when everyone on my dash listened to Welcome to Night Vale so thereās be a good chance that on any ole day someone would reblog a quote that would grab me by the throat and forcibly ascend me to a higher plane where I understood myself and the universe better and with more kindness but also a little spook
āThe past is gone, and cannot harm you anymore. And while the future is fast coming for you, it always flinches first and settles in as the gentle presentā are you kidding me this quote has propelled me through at least three emotional crises
āThe desert seems vast, even endless. And yet scientists tell us that somewhere, even now, there is snow.ā That quote literally got me through grieving my brother like WTNV goes HARD
A List of Some of My Favorite Quotes From This Insane Podcast:
"You are beautiful when you do beautiful things."
"The present tense of regret is indecision."
"We understand so much, but the sky behind those lights-- mostly void, partially stars-- that sky reminds us we don't understand even more."
"Be proud of your place in the Cosmos. It is small and yet it is."
"Believe in yourself. You are an ancient, absent god, discussed only rarely by literary scholars. So if you don't believe, no one will."
"Death is only the end if you assume the story is about you."
āWhisper a dangerous secret to someone you care about. Now they have the power to destroy you, but they wonāt. Thatās what love is.ā
"Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But thatās not the right question. The question is are we living a life that is worth the harm?"
"When we talk about teenagers, we adults often talk with an air of scorn, of expectation for disappointment. And this can make people who are presently teenagers feel very defensive. But what everyone should understand is that none of us are talking to the teenagers that exist now, but talking back to the teenager we ourselves once were ā all stupid mistakes and lack of fear, and bodies that hadnāt yet begun to slump into a lasting nothing. Any teenager who exists now is incidental to the potent mix of nostalgia and shame with which we speak to our younger selves."
"We are not history yet. We are happening now. How miraculous is that?"
"Wednesday has been cancelled due to a scheduling error."
"We have nothing to fear except ourselves. We are unholy, awful people."
"A million dollars isnāt cool. You know whatās cool? A basilisk."
"There's nothing under your bed. There's nothing in your closet. Nothing waits in every darkness. Nothing is the most terrifying thing of all."
"The night sky is ten miles wide, eight miles deep, and floats three miles up. Its favourite food is grape jelly. It wants to be a drummer."
"Look to the sky. You will not find answers there, but you will certainly see what everyone is screaming about."
"Ignorance might not actually be bliss, but it is certainly less work."
"And now, a special report. Crocodiles: Can they eat your children? *YES.*"
"Lie down and look up at the ceiling and breathe with those curiously fragile lungs of yours and remind yourself: Donāt worry. Donāt worry. All is as it was meant to be. It was meant to be lonely and terrifying and unfair and fleeting. Donāt worry."
"As long as Iām reminding myself things, Iām a good person, worthy of love ā both from myself and others."
"Guns don't kill people! It's impossible to be killed by a gun. We are all invincible to bullets and it's a miracle!"
"Everything is exciting! Particularly existence. Existence is the most thrilling fact of all."
"There is a monster under your bed. A monster at your window. A monster any place you imagine one. You project your monsters on the world."
"You miss 100% of the bank robberies you don't commit."
"I like my coffee like I like my nights. Dark, endless, and impossible to sleep through. "
"A friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep. Welcome to Night Vale."
"And now, the weather."
I discovered this podcast at the beginning of high school, and let me tell you, it rewired my synapses.
Not only was it my first experience with positive LGBT representation, it was the show I clung to when everything else went to shit. Whatever was going on in my life, I knew I had this show in my corner, making me laugh, making me cry, making me feel okay about my place in the universe.
I owe the creators of this podcast more than I could express.
"the lights over the Arby's" is such an intrinsically queer piece of writing that it hits me *hard* every time.
"We will never be the same again. But here's a little secret for you: no one is ever the same thing again after anything. You are never the same twice, and much of your unhappiness comes from trying to pretend that you are. Accept that you are different each day, and do so joyfully, recognizing it for the gift it is. Work within the desires and goals of the person you are currently, until you aren't that person anymore, and everything changes once again." (from Episode 75)

I think adults need summer vacation. Like let's just close down all our jobs for three months and play outside. Please. I'm so tired.
Love to see this post getting notes again. None of us are ok.
i may just be french but do americans really not get paid summer vacations? you don't go to the beach with your kids? "There is no federal or state statutory minimum paid vacation or paid public holidays" am i reading this right? like i'm not trying to rub anyone's face in it but you're just stuck in the rat race year-round until you're old and that's normal and accepted??? in the 21st century???
another reminder to stop buying/watching/reading anything JK Rowling associated
I cannot stress enough she is a primary funder of transphobia. She is not just someone with bigoted views you can seperate from her work, her work funds the bigotry.
Every fishy Tufton Street startup with a transphobic goal is directly bankrolled by this awful cow, and SHE is directly bankrolled by YOU.
