Literally Everything needs to stop having so many completely unavoidable Wet Sounds immediately. Like I am so so serious, it needs to stop. Because tell me why I have to just plug my ears and cry when an ad for a cat treat comes on the TV because I have to get up to mute the TV (no mute button on the remote bc this isn't some bs smart tv this is a normal flatscreen about as old as my teenage siblings that you still have to plug a separate box into with an HDMI cable and use a separate remote for, and I'm using said separate remote.) bc we lost the remote for the TV, and I can't fucking skip the ad either because it's one of YouTube's beloved 20-second unskippable ads that's in a chain of 2-4 other ads of about the same length and skippability. And this sort of thing is in everything nowadays! TV shows, movies, ads, songs, video games, podcasts (including a certain tumblr-favourite horror audio drama series), ASMR videos on youtube I go very thoroughly out of my way to avoid, those disgusting wet mouth sounds are very nearly completely inescapable and I hate it. It's the squelch of skin or meat in a horror game, it's the sound of the slither of that tumblr-favourite horror audio drama series' infamous body-horror inducing insect, it's just *in* ASMR videos for reasons I'll never understand, it's the sound of a scalpel cutting into a patient at a surgeon's hand in any of hundreds of medical dramas and part of the crunch and squelch of forcibly broken body parts in a more gorey action movie like the ones a certain loud-mouthed morally-grey mercenary are the main character in.
