Iβm not sure if this will be helpful to anyone, but you literally do not have to be a good writer to write and post fan fiction. Yes you will naturally get better at writing and finding your voice the more you do it but you do not have to be or become a professional level writer to enjoy writing and sharing fics. Itβs common to hear people praise fic writers by saying their work is better than published books, and while I think this comes from a good place, thatβs not the norm or expectation. There is also a sentiment that fic writing is βgood practiceβ for becoming a better writer or doing something else later, but if fic is the only creative writing you ever do that is literally okay. Your technical skill does not mean you cannot have fun and build community with your writing, or that other people cannot love and find meaning in your work.
Watched a documentary about abuse and advice one guy said to give children was, "Tell them that if someone is hurting them, to tell someone - and don't just tell one person. Tell as many people as possible, and keep telling as many people as possible until the abuse stops." and i really liked that
Bc so many ppl focus on the idea of telling A Trusted Adult, but even a well-meaning individual can fuck up and let abuse fall through the cracks or not know what to do
Whereas if a child tells LOADS of adults AND other kids, there's far less opportunity for an abuser to do damage control
Consistently telling their story and spreading it around disempowers the abuser to control and coerce the flow of information, or to utilise gaps and weaknesses in systems of reporting or welfare to isolate the child
Just really good advice. Not suprised I don't hear it more often.
There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. It truly is femslash Supernatural
guess what just got greenlit for a 10th season, 2 years after OP's post
I hate when I drink all of my drink and there's no drink left. What the fuckkkkkkk. #sickandtwisted

CURATEDTUMBLR-POISONED PRINCESSGIRL: it's actually punk to be of noble blood
INDIE DEVELOPER: check out my new game that takes place in a dimly lit megastructure. the title is one word and the graphics are black and white (except for blood) and look like tv static
POISONOUS MIASMA: *encroaches*
Me playing the newbie wiz quests feeling like I'm the fucking twilight zone. I KNOW THESE QUESTS ARE CHANGED. THESE CHARACTERS DO NOT SOUND LIKE THAT
Whatβs so funny

I'm going to be honest, i don't like some of the wiz city newbie quest changes. It's been a while since I played the OG quests, and tbh, I mainly remember triton ave because that was the one that was free (lol). But I swear it felt longer?? All these quests, they were longer. Whenever you had to collect something from a monster you fought, there was also the possibility that a text would pop up saying you failed to get that item or am I misremembering that?
It feels like they dumbed it down, which is a shame. I know it's a kids game, but come on.
