alternatively, vampire aversion to churches is based more in the belief of the community than in the physical location or actual divine intervention - so if the community were to invite them in, then they could enter unharmed (and I think we should invite them in! as kindred spirits)
related: I've seen before the concept that vampires are repelled by items (crosses, Bible, churches, etc.) mostly because of their victim's belief in those items. so, if the vampire is a threat and their victims fully believe the shul is a Safe Location, then the vampire cannot enter.
