THE JUNIVERSE VAGUE ASS OVERVIEW!!!
so! the juniverse is a loose continuity that a lot of my sillier, less plot heavy oc's and scenarios are set in :3 ive been realizing that I am shy and have a lot of oc's that really only exist in my head or in two-odd posts, and I wanna amend that, because I have this whole setting and its so broad and loosely defined that I'm sure my friends and followers with oc's could have juniverse oc's if they wanted that'd be awesome!!!!
THE JUNIVERSE IN GENERAL!!!:
So the Juniverse is a lot like our universe, earth exists and is generally the same, but it is stranger and wackier, I guess. For one thing, humanity is still the dominant species on earth, but earth is also teeming with aliens, mutants, monsters, the undead, superhumans, etc! Some of these creatures and people work as superheroes and supervillains in the public eye, like the Ghost Family, and some of them just try to lead normal lives like Joon/Miku or are strange skulking cryptids, by choice or otherwise, like Clemency and Bazooka!!!
The existence of things like this are kind of an open secret. For one thing, superheroes very plainly exist, and have existed in the public eye since the civil war, although it was only in the mid-20th century as communications picked up and a substantial amount of non-humans joined the allied forces in world war two that their existence became public knowledge. However, the existence of things like ghosts, demons, ghouls, etc. is still kind of kept secret, albeit not very well, and not very hard. The nebulous government assholes in secret power aren't trying to hide things so much as keep them contained and easy to neutralize if things get out of hand!
Theres also some alternate history shit, not much, and most of it is more weird than super important. The y2k glitch wasnt seen ahead of time, and rather than countless people working to prevent it like in our universe, they had to work super hard to undo it, so the early 2000's were a pretty lawless, dark time worldwide, JFK was a werewolf and survived the first assassination attempt, only for a silver bullet to get him later. George Bush was assassinated and Dick Cheney was the first US president to be overthrown after attempting an unconstitutional third term. The British royal family are vampires. See, stupid shit.
An area in the Appalachian Mountains containing the towns of Coma, Harrison, and Oldston. It is also home to the largest graveyard in the United States, located in Coma, and the second largest Mobile Home Park, Possum Creek. The area is very run-down and isolated, due to being nestled very deep in the mountains, and full of interesting cryptids, and very interesting people!!! It's pretty closely based on the area I live in :O!!! OC's in the area include Clemency, a dumb deergirl (she is actually a ghoul but does not know this!) and her friends Les and Adam! It also is home to the Hawkins Family, some very old OC's I have not posted about, a group which includes Tummler, a cool lesbian albino black metal singer, her antique store owner wife Maggie, their daughter Rose, Maggies best friend and ex-husband John, and their adopted son and local monster hunter Chris :D My OC's Indiana and Curly also have some adventures here!
Ezekiel City is based on the SeaTac area in Washington, and is the biggest city in the United States. One in every 40 people in Ezekiel City is a superhuman or non-human of some sort, as Ezekiel City is the largest and oldest Keystone City in the United States. (Keystone Cities in the Juniverse are cities that will register any nonhuman to become an official superhero, giving them a costume and steady paycheck in return for frequent patrolling and participation in public events. it's a tactic to keep superhumans amassed in known spaces and out of trouble.) The Superheroes are kept in check by the Ghost Family, who I have posted about :D. The setting is also home to Shipulski, a horrible private eye with incredible luck, and her archnemesis Vennman, a Cia agent with incredible skills and horrible luck! The biggest team in the city is the Ezekiel Exemplars, led by Superwuppygirl!!! @transfagrified-in-the-void also has a superpowered band in the city :3
A county in inland Florida, where most of the characters from my Miku Facts AU live and play music and have fun! There's a huge punk scene there called Lowlife Punk that took shape in the 2000's and 2010's. My screenplay Acceptable Forms Of Voyeurism takes place in a version of Pigbody County, in a more grounded, slightly less supernatural version of the Juniverse
This is like. My gift to Edgy Oc Makers. Guys take hold of this setting. The High School is a nameless school in a nameless town on a nameless, small island, run by a nebulous government agency with the intent of ensuring that children born of strange parentage, with strange powers, or under strange circumstances, are able to be released into society to lead productive lives. As a signifier of the sorts of characters you can make for this setting, My OC Indiana Ikeda Junior went to The High School after being raised by his father, an open and exceedingly prolific serial killer, for his early life, and Curly Rosenthal was sent there after learning he had the ability to gain the memories of others by ingesting their flesh/blood. So yah!!!! make ur edgy teen creepypasta style oc's its super fun to do :D
The same organization that runs The High School also runs The Facility in Croatia, a huge, underground series of bunkers where individuals too dangerous to enter society at all are kept contained. Bazooka Baguette, Clemency's online boyfriend, is kept here, as he is a nuclear powered death robot, and so is Jeff the Killer, his shitty roommate. The Organization is NOT cruel to the wards of the facility, they get unlimited internet access, and any requests within reason. That said, being kept a prisoner without a trial does suck ass.
