My mom’s a Special Ed teacher and she legit had to get up in the middle of a seminar and tell the presenter that no, you CANNOT have an AI write your IEPs, since they’re legal documents

one of the other teachers was talking about using flint k12 to modify feedback for a kid with dyslexia and i could literally feel my soul leaving my body. like what have we become. we are putting the educational fate of our kids with learning disabilities in the hands of a machine that does not even know what the words it's spitting out means. how is it supposed to help them when it cannot process human language and is instead spitting out the result of statistical probabilities. these are the students who need our real human support most. is this thing on. hello
