OH. EM. EF. GEE. It’s finally here.

So…sorry for that extremely long hiatus. Oops. My bad. Real life is lame.

Anyways, this chapter has Asami and Bolin being nerds as they prepare their flight to Omashu; Satku and Mahno making a proper (dejected) appearance; and Rei and Akiko revisting crazy kabob lady, whilst running into someone they didn’t really care to see. And a tower. There’s a big ol’ tower. What the shit is that tower?

The Age of the Lotus is a story primarily about, as the title may suggest, Rei, who is the adopted daughter of Korra and Asami. As-per-the-usual, Rei is a character created by the most excellent artist, Doofyarts, who first envisioned her in fanart, and who puts up with my maddeningly inconsistent postings and neurosis. So hell yeah for that!

I tried. Sweet merciful god I tried to make it fluffy. My desire for snark was too strong.

We did alright though. I think.

So this story is about Korra and Asami learning to be parents even as they deal with the roles they play in world affairs.

In this chapter we have some self-reflective Asami, Korra having a crazy dream, the reception of some bad news, and Rei (the little girl they just rescued) having an appetite for bananas.

Rei, the kid that makes this story tick, is a character invented first in fanart by Doofyarts, who has been putting up with my rambling neurosis as I write, for nearly two months now, and has always been super supportive. Go check her out!

So I’ve decided to start a second series. In this one Korra and Asami learn how to be parents, adopting a little girl in the aftermath of some pretty nasty stuff. Some of you are already familiar with Rei in my other series ‘Rei, The Age of the Lotus’, but this one pulls back the scope and takes us back to when we were first introduced to her.

So, this story’s primarily about Korra and Asami as they learn about Motherhood, and what it takes to raise a child together, even as the world shifts around them. They’ll grow stronger for it. (Gah, sounds so fluffy. Help!)

This is kind of a new subject for me honestly, so let me know what your thoughts are! I think you guys’ll like it as we really get into it :P

Finally! Oh my goodness. Here it is.

This chapter is less serious than the others. We have Bolin and Rei being goobers during breakfast, the Korrasami family preparing to fly to Omashu, how Rei’s old pro bending team is faring, and a new character is deemed strange enough to join our crew. Plenty of subtext though, a lot of peeking behind the curtain, starting to get a larger idea of what’s going on.

And as usual for those just now joining us for Rei’s story, here goes: “Rei, The Age of the Lotus” is ultimately a story about Rei, the adopted daughter of Korra and Asami, and her adventures relating to the Avatar, the return of the Red Lotus, and the world at large. We experience this story from a lot of points of view, from characters both new and old, as events progress and everything gradually goes to shit comes to a head.

And over and over again forever, a huge thanks to doofyarts, who invented the character of Rei. Doofy has been super supportive of Rei’s story from start, and it’s really thanks to her that this fic has any sort of fan base, which is amazing.

Here we are!… a couple of days late, but better late than never!

This chapters all about Korra and Asami. About motherhood, their past, their loss, about dealing with getting older, and about them understanding each other even as they get on in years.

Gah. Sounds so fluffy. I promise it’s not super fluffy. It is kinda, but meh…eeeeh……. *implodes*

Anyways.
