there should be multiple ask buttons. there should be a "normal" ask button, a "sexual" ask button, and a "formal" ask button. and if you've been mutuals for a year you can access the "serene" ask button
Concept: Domon's antisocial cryptid nature plus his penchant for being really bluntly honest means he becomes associated with harsh truths presented bluntly. His photo is used like a Future Century version of 'truth coming out of her well to shame mankind' as a meme after the 13th Gundam Fight.
Like the 'it's true but you shouldn't say it' meme.
Biggest in-universe meme that came out of the 13th Gundam Fight: Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken.
Second biggest: Domon glaring into the camera after he wins, declaring that he's free now, and walking out on his own parade.
Okay but the idea of ARGO of all people being Online to any degree and having to explain it to Domon instead of like, Sai or Chibodee, is killing me
Online Argo is a delight. Chibodee is definitely an oldschool celebrity rather than an influencer, but Argo was born in the depths of the net. Raised in it. Piracy is in his blood.
This is why it's entirely in character for me to write him spamming kaomoji in my G Gundam fic.
“I can see your nipples through that”
You’re welcome?
(defense) attorney culture is like the opposite of cop culture. lawyers hate all other lawyers with a barely concealed passion, yes, even their partners at the law firm. no solidarity, 85% drama and 15% social niceties. they’ll hang out together socially on occasion but they hate each other to their core. they’re like betta fish.
cop: Officer Misconduct would do that, he’s a good lawman, he was the best man at my wedding and I’m lucky to have known him.
doctor: I’ve worked with my colleague, Dr. Malpractice, for 15 years now and I have never witnessed the behavior you are describing.
defense attorney: Yeah, that sounds like something that stupid bastard would try. He doesn’t have the good sense to navigate his way out of a wet cardboard box, much less construct a sound legal defense. He has the integrity of a fucking gnat too. When we were in law school 35 years ago, he barfed in the back seat of my Mercedes after a night out and he never paid to get it cleaned. Even his wife can’t stand him. Fucker. I hate that guy.
Aaron Burr & Alexander Hamilton were defense co-counsel on a murder trial 4 years before the duel.
This is because cops and doctors are fundamentally deferrential to their sources of authority. Lawyers are different. The purpose of a lawyer is to challenge authority.
Exactly. Thats why I specified defense attorneys (and corporate law, family law, estate and injury/employment, to different degrees) and not prosecuting attorneys, those guys can be suspiciously friendly…

Northerlion is the Aristotle to Jerma's Plato
northernlions redditor rationalism and its empirical inheritance as peripatetic, jermas own penchant for questioning showing his debt to an unseen socrates, a fondness for elenchus- a dialectical movement towards aporia. one leaves the jerma stream in a state of deepened perplexity- the northernlion stream in a sense of self assured appeal to a preexisting normalcy (aristotle himself neglected to see out his empiricism past the point of bias, after all)…. also jerma, like plato, is funnier x

For those who needed to hear it today
And another gentle reminder
doomscrolling tiktok together and I turn to you and ask, "why doesn't your algorithm recommend any videos with Black people?"
doomscrolling tumblr and I turn to you and ask, "why don't you reblog anti-racism when it makes you feel uncomfortable?"
I mean, real answer? I don't reblog 99% of the anti-racist posts that cross my dash because they all have this type of guilt-tripping on the end. I thought we agreed ten or fifteen years ago that we're not spreading that shit. I see plenty of posts I would love to reblog if they didn't all end with "but you won't reblog this and that proves you're actually racist" or words to that effect
Tears that are driven by white guilt are self-indulgent. When we are mired in guilt, we are narcissistic and ineffective; guilt functions as an excuse for inaction. Further, because we so seldom have authentic and sustained cross-racial relationships, our tears do not feel like solidarity to people of color we have not previously supported. Instead, our tears function as impotent reflexes that don’t lead to constructive action. We need to reflect on when we cry and when we don’t, and why. In other words, what does it take to move us? Since many of us have not learned how racism works and our role in it, our tears may come from shock and distress about what we didn’t know or recognize. For people of color, our tears demonstrate our racial insulation and privilege. I asked the woman of color I refer to in the opening of this chapter if I was missing anything in this list. This is her response: It’s infuriating because of its audacity of disrespect to our experience. You are crying because you are uncomfortable with your feelings when we are barely allowed to have any. You are ashamed or some such thing and cry, but we are not allowed to have any feelings because then we are being difficult. We are supposed to remain stoic and strong because otherwise we become the angry and scary people of color. We are only allowed to have feelings for the sake of your entertainment, as in the presentation of our funerals. And even then, there are expectations of what is allowed for us to express. We are abused daily, beaten, raped, and killed but you are sad and that’s what is important. That’s why it is sooooo hard to take. - White Fragility, Robin DiAngelo
I am asking you to deliberately seek out and engage with Black content creators. I am also asking you to notice when your racial guilt moves you to inaction, regard it as a problem worth solving, and solve it.

Yes, artist who has commissions open for everyone. I... I would like to commission you. I would like to commission... [sniffles] A picture of my character. [Inhales really sharply] Please. If that's okay. And i'd like you to draw her looking... [Wipes tears from eye] Looking... super cool and. And awesome [voice wobbles] Please. If you can. It's okay if you can't. It's okay if that's not alright. It's [Sniffles loudly] It's okay. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You can use my money I'm giving you to beat me over the head until i am killed if you want
Someone will point out the disproportionate popularity of White male characters and people will come out of the woodwork to go 'that's not racism or misogyny it's just this character is more interesting/hot/relatable' as if the very notion that White men are more interesting/hot/relatable than women or characters of colour isn't literally racism and misogyny. Thanks for proving the point!
"Disproportionate"
Wow, it's almost like the majority of fans are white people and they best relate to characters of their own race, just like you're doing.
