"what if someone regrets transitioning" if you are 18 or over in free country usa you can walk into any tattoo parlor and ask for a tattoo that will be on your body forever and ever and ever and they will give it to you with the understanding that if you dont like the result or you regret it later that's your fucking problem and not theirs
âcapitalism worksâ factoid actually untrue. the 62 people who own half the worldâs wealth are outliers and should be eaten.
Absolutely nuts how they made up a number for this satire post and the correction is that reality is *more absurd* than the number they chose
no iâm afraid itâs even worse than that. 62 was correct in 2016 when the original post was made.
the bravest souls in fan spaces are the people who selfship with a character that already has a wildly popular ship in the fandom. you looked at a tidal wave of fan meta and fics all pairing your fav with another popular character and said okay. but what if i was the one kissing them instead? extremely powerful aura.
I cannot ship grace with anyone because the thought of a non partnering aroace person living a long fantastic and fulfilling life that doesn't ever involve being romantically involved with anyone and being happy about that is so great and I hope my future is the same. aroace non partnering grace forever. with rocky and adrian and all his eridian friends and family

Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.
Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.
hey guys im making french toast sticks in the oven. Iâm gonna take a quick nap wake me up in 5 minutes so i can flip them over

waaaay back when I was a cashier in retail we would talk about dumb shit while unloading the truck, and we got to the "what would you do in a zombie apocalypse" me and another worker were like yeah we would just die. End it all, we can't fight or run or shit. I refuse to put that much effort into survival.
And my manager was like no!!!! If that happened, I would drive to find you guys in my truck and we could eat stuff from my wife's garden and I would make sure everyone I know survived!! I would carry you all on my shoulders away from the zombies!!
Anyway, random shout out to that guy. You were too kind for retail management, Devin.
also afterwards everyone who was talking about their cool bunker fantasies were like "Damn, Devin's right, we should also be considering helping people around us." which is the only recorded instance of a retail shift making people better human beings.
Thatâs exactly why I donât like most zombie apocalypse stories (or most other post apocalypse stories). They always fall into the trap of Everyone Being Awful.
The idea that societal collapse exposes mankindâs true nature ignores one thing: society IS mankind. We make it, just by being around each other. Social mores and customs arenât arbitrary rules inflicted on us by some unseen force, theyâre our own behaviors and views. We say please and thank you because we want to be kind. We establish charities because we want to help others. We set up garbage cans because we want to be clean. Weâre the ones setting the standards and frowning at the people who donât rise to meet them. Weâre the ones who are appalled by the cruelties in our history.
Yes, weâre capable of truly awful things, but weâre also capable of remarkable kindness. Weâre capable of more goodness than we give ourselves credit for.
THANK YOU
The problem with nearly every post-apocalypse story is that they take the worst behavior of people during a riot or a natural disaster, extrapolate it to all of humanity, and assume that situation never changes. But even the worst disasters end. Hurricane Katrina looters aren't still looting. And there were far more people helping than looting.
I'm so tired of this assumption that the worst of humanity is "realistic" while the best is cartoonish or childish. Every single time there's a disaster, or a crisis, you see people helping and people risking their lives for others. Hell, we've even had societal collapses before and we've rebuilt civilization every time. The real childishness is assuming all people are, at heart, selfish and uncaring. Because that's how bitter teenagers who have never experienced the world view it.

calling ppl "larpers" to insinuate theyre fake fans of smth/poorly pretending to be smth is so fucking stupid cuz. tell me u have never met a real LARPer without saying u have never met a real LARPer. those guys care. they are fucking locked in dude. like LARP is a lifestyle its a commitment they care so much. they're not fake nerds either like fake nerds just repost LOTR gifsets and talk about how nerdy they are for being into like, fucking batman and stuff. LARPers know their shit. they read the whole Silmarillion. they know who Ambush Bug is. like get LARP's name out of your fucking mouth

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TECHNOBLADE đ i miss him sm recently
okay guys, I think bloodymary has gotten big enough that y'all need to consider not main-tagging the canon series anymore.
for those unaware: this has been Tumblr fandom etiquette since the old days. there's no concise line per se, but if an AU gets big enough to be cumbersome in the main tag even while blocked, it's common courtesy to stop tagging it with the canon series it's from.
if an AU is big enough to be cumbersome in a tag, it's big enough to be found by keyword searching. that, and when unrelated characters end up taking up this much space, you're far more likely to turn newcomers off to the idea of your AU. and you're more at risk of being blocked, bc it's a lot easier to block someone than to blacklist their username.
side note that this is etiquette is only aimed at fully named canon tags! so you can still tag it "#phm" and "#il" or even full character name tags.
so, please consider this at least!
it means so much to me that rocky's lead puppeteer james ortiz got to voice him and got like. full billing right next to ryan gosling in the opening credits. and he's gotten to do interviews and red carpet appearances and talk about puppetry and it's all being taken so seriously just like he's any other type of actor. gonna make me cry fr. like they could have gotten some famous person to be rocky's voice to try and pull more star power but. they went with the guy who acted him. and like of course they did. like there he is. how could they do anything else. he's right there and he's perfect
YOU play video games to feel powerful. I play video games to feel new, previously undiscovered shades of grief and sadness. we are NOT the same.
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as âproblematicâ in class and our professor was like, âThatâs cool, but âproblematicâ doesnât really mean anything. It means that the thing youâre describing has a problem, and in and of itself thatâs not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else itâs not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like youâre trying to say that this is bad, but you donât want to say âbad.â Is that right?â
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the âbadâ thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, âIâm uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.â
Once we stopped calling things âproblematicâ and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, âthatâs racistâ or âthatâs misogynisticâ or âew capitalism grossâ out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, âUhhh... Iâm not sure whatâs so bad?â and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I canât help but think of this professor being like, âGood starting point, now letâs get specific.â I think when we have to commit to saying âthatâs ___â it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever weâre claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes itâs art, and it should be full of problems, because thatâs what art is.
#'this is present in the text' is often a good first step #but those second and third ones (naming it; describing its function) are vital (via @elucubrare)

i like how all the movie critiques are 90% "rocky comes off too innocent and it doesnt correctly get across that hes very smart" and its true. but saying that the movie fandom correctly intuited hes a bitch and a pervert anyway whos mentally ill and overwhelmingly possessive of this leaky space blob and that "bad bad bad" DEFINITELY means "FUCK FUCK FUCK"
