Why Are Libfems… like she almost got the point, but because of sex posi bullshit she spun it the wrong way. It’s SAD that so many women in kink/BDSM are trying to use it as a bandaid coping mechanism for trauma. It’s sad that the men involved in that scene prey upon women they know are vulnerable. It’s not badass by any means. Hypersexuality as a response to trauma shouldn’t be romanticized.

Imagine if we treated any other form of trauma like this.

Are you traumatized by being beaten by your alcoholic father when you were a child? Have you tried asking your partner or a friend to get drunk and beat you, so that you can finally be in control of your life and fully recover?

Are you traumatized by spending time in a war zone? Have you tried asking your friends to explode a bunch of shit around you and pretend to be dead so that you can experience the healing powers of consent?

Experienced enslavement and suffering trauma as a consequence? Why not become someone’s human pet and let them lead you around on a leash and make you eat out of a dog bowl and do all their house chores? Don’t you know how liberated and free it will make you feel, to be willingly objectified and subjugated?

I’m going to say something that might sound crazy. Suicide and suicide attempts are sort of a societal alarm bell that says “something is very wrong with the environment this individual was in.” A living being choosing to take themselves out of existence is the most extreme act of distress there is. The state stepping in to silence this alarm bell by funneling suicidal people into a state sanctioned euthanasia program, normalizing this act through a socially accepted bureaucratic system, is not a good thing. It goes hand in hand with the state’s interest in maintaining the status quo at the expense of the population and the psychiatric industry’s interest in individualizing societal problems to extract profit and aid the existing system. It’s saying “there are no complaints here, just people with sick brains, carry on.”

I know a lot of yall have moral OCD from being autistic and growing up on Tumblr so I just wanna remind you that just because you're a radfem doesn't mean you have to ascribe to some screed of rules. This isn't an ideology or cult the same way genderism is, and I think it is very pertinent for all of us, especially detransitioners, to focus time and energy on dismantling this framework lest we burn ourselves out and just repeat the same toxic cycles on ourselves and eachother.

You don't have to suddenly become vegan and celibate and 4B and all this stuff if that's not something you already were. Live your life girl, be happy. Read and talk to other women, feed your mind and your soul. Don't hold yourself to impossible standards; anyone who is serious about being an activist is in it for the long haul, not just short bursts. Above all things, find peace in yourself, there's no way to help other people if you can't do that. Much love xo

So as much as it is an amazing technology, take a look at the ground yr feet are on and remember that you're above all else a damn human being and you deserve to be treated like one. When we foster environments that allow for questioning and dissidence, we make it safe for learning. It becomes safe to be wrong. Think about how liberating that is?
