one day, maybe far off in the future, maybe sooner than we might imagine, a girl will be born. her mother will have had been treated fairly and with care throughout her pregnancy. no assumptions will be made about the girl's personality, behavior, or her future. she will be taken care of and loved, she will be mentally and physically stimulated and enriched throughout her childhood, encouraged to play in mud and to learn about what interests her. she will go to a school that provides her with a quality education equal to that of her peers. she will be able to engage in physical activity and sports against other girls her age and experience teamwork, camaraderie, and both the thrills of success and the ache of loss. she will be educated on her body, how it works, its unique strengths, and how to take care of it as best as we know how. she will be encouraged to pursue her hobbies regardless of what they are. she will be able to pursue higher education without barrier or fear. when she gets older, she will be able to party and go to bars with her friends without fearing for her safety. she will be able to go on dates without an emergency plan. she will be able to pursue any career of her choosing without discrimination by hiring managers, coworkers, managers, and bosses. she will be able to support herself, she will not be financially coerced by an individual or by the economy to pursue a relationship with a man she does not desire on her own. she will be able to easily access medical care from female providers. she will be entirely at liberty to determine if she desires companionship, male or female, without being it being incentivized, pressured, or deemed necessary by anyone other than herself. she will be able to determine, with no external influence, if she desires to have children. if she does, she will be treated with care and respect, just like her own mother, and she will be just as loved and cared for if she chooses to not procreate. she will be able to live her life entirely for herself, without the eyes of a man on her back. and when the day comes that her life ends, her wishes will be respected, her body will be treated with care, and the only name on her gravestone will be her own.
