Meet the coastal chomper! This species of chomper have adapted to life along the shoreline and open waters. Over generations it evolved the ability to float for extended periods. A large inflatable air sac located around its neck acts like a pool floatie. Allowing it to rest and sleep safely while drifting on the water's surface. This adaptation helps conserve energy and keeps the animal afloat even during long periods of inactivity. Honestly can't remember why I scrapped this subspecies. XD

I wrote a story for her!

It’s a nice, sunny afternoon and Talentless is out collecting herbs when they hear it. A small, high-pitched meep somewhere on their right. They turn their gaze from the sage on the ground to the bush where the sound came from and frown. Carefully and as quietly as they can, they approach, hand outstretched, and in the same way, they push the leaves out of view.

There's a… deer there. A celvie, if the fae were to guess. Its coat is black and purple, and it stares back with eyes that hold far more knowledge than any ordinary animal’s normally do. It's scared, too, shivering beneath their gaze.

“Oh,” the fae breathes, a smile emerging to their features. “Hey there, little friend. Are you lost?”

The celvie’s legs buckle, and it (she?) falls to the ground with a soft thud.

Talentless frowns. “Hey now, I won't hurt you, I-” they pause, and look around. There are clovers a few feet from the bush. They stretch out towards them and pluck a few.

“Here,” the fae whispers, offering the flowers. The celvie is too petrified to do anything but stare. After a few moments, she slowly cranes her neck forward and starts to slowly munch on the flowers.

After she gulps her food down, she sets her big, deep eyes on Talentless, who stares back with kindness. Then, she shakily gets up to her feet and stumbles into the fae’s lap.

Talentless is too shocked to react until they practically melt and put a tentative hand on the celvie’s back.

“Adorable little sugar, aren't you?” They coo. “You need a name. What do you say about…” they hum, looking at the forest canopy above their head. “How about… Belladonna. Bella for short.”

The celvie meeps in response. Talentless could just die on the spot from the cuteness.

I can’t draw at the moment, so I will tell a story instead!!!

Corey was taking another walk in the woods, trying to clear her mind, this time with her lone Celvie, Mune, by her side. The memories of the fire that took the old ranch were still present, but she was slowly healing… These walls with her pets definitely helped.

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the bushes, and out popped a small, pink and black Celvie, staring directly at Corey with her shimmery periwinkle eyes. She appeared to be lost, turning around repeatedly as if she was looking for someone.

“Hi there lil lady. Are you lost?”

The Celvie stared at Corey with a confused yet forlorn look. Maybe she got separated from her herd…

Considering how young the Celvie was, it was far too dangerous for her to be out in the woods alone. A far less gentle creature could’ve ended up turning her into dinner if Corey and Mune hadn’t found her first.

“You wanna come back to the ranch with us? It’s safer there. And plus, Mune here will help you feel less lonely!”

Mune stepped forward, startling the other Celvie a little. But, after cautiously sniffing him, she realized that Mune meant no harm to her, and, after a few minutes of cautious approach, she began to playfully knock horns with him.

“Aww. You guys are friends already! C’mon! Let’s get her back to the ranch before it gets dark out!”

Corey and Mune then led the new Celvie through the ranch’s gates, where Cassiopeia was waiting to greet her.

“Hello sweetheart! How was your wa-” Cassiopeia then took notice of the fact that Corey had returned with one more Celvie than she left with, and that the new Celvie looked lost. “I see you have found a new friend! She’s quite the small thing, isn’t she? Where is her herd?”

“I think she may have gotten separated from her herd. It was getting dark out, so I knew I had to bring her here so she’d be safe! Do you think I could keep her?”

The Celvie then stood at Corey’s side, nuzzling her arm. Mune then walked up to the new Celvie and began to nudge her, telling her he wanted to play. The new Celvie took the hint and the two then began to knock horns once again, until she knocked Mune down! The new Celvie then started to happily prance around Corey in celebration!

“Well, it seems she already likes you, and she appears to have bonded with Mune, so you can definitely keep her! But, if she’s going to stay here, she needs a name”

Corey thinks about what to name her for a minute. “How about… Mavis?”

Mavis stamped her little hooves with joy in response! She seems to love her new name!

“I think she likes it! Time for you to lead her to her new home with Mune!”

Corey then led Mavis and Mune to their pen, where they began to get comfortable in their pillowy nests and fall asleep. It was late after all.

And after that, Corey then had to go to bed, herself. She slept soundly that night, knowing that she had likely just saved Mavis from a gruesome, untimely fate, and gave her a new life.

Corey had once again found a new friend!!!
