no but actually i see soooo many people genuinely and wholeheartedly like. boasting? about how "most of the longfics i read on ao3 are actually better than books i've read" or that "ao3 has ruined books for me" and it kinda genuinely pisses me off. yeah actually, you would think that if you were reading shit books!! read better ones! yes there are works of genuine literary gold on ao3! and also on the shelves of your local library/bookstore and should read those too! why limit yourself when you can gorge yourself on beautiful stories! don't just give up on books because you read a few shitty ones, i KNOW for a FACT you're all regularly giving fics of questionable quality a chance so try it out with books too. please. if you don't like the book just put it down and try another until you find what you like!!! begging everyone to regularly put the effort into training their attention spans to become invested in new stories and characters
