genuinely it is so fucking alienating in queer spaces where everyone is obsessively trying to find as many potential possibilities as they can for a thing to be “problematic” (especially when you’re a teen cuz that shit is turned up to the max when everyone has less self actualization skills and wants to believe that they’re doing something substantial) being transfem, because just like it is with being disabled/nd (especially one of the “not fun!!” ones like social ASD, BPD, bipolar, schizophrenia, etc, any of the ones that make people “uncomfortable” that aren’t nothing more than “quirky”/that can’t be infantilized), as much as people like to pretend to themselves that they don’t have unconscious biases (which everyone does, and unless you were raised without them—which would require you never interacting with society along with having a scientist-level obsessed parent who selects all of the things and information you’re exposed to—or spent extensive lengths of time trying to isolate and unlearn them, you do 100% have them. About brown people, about black people, about disabled people, about transfems, about people in a lower social class- any group you don’t have a personal connection to + long history with where you shed all aspects of yourself to try to understand them. Including sometimes any of the groups you’re a part of [I was this way ab disability before I knew how disabled I was]. And if you think that you don’t, you definitely do. It doesn’t matter how many books you absorb in your head or how many gay people you have in your circle. You will have them.) and that a like switch in their head flips and they automatically think of you differently and try and find as many problems as they can with everything about you (it’s an automatic and immediate wall they put up of “hmph, well just because you’re X minority doesn’t mean I need to give you special treatment! Now I am going to use that line to justify treating you specially terrible!” that both conservatives and “leftists” put up, but the latter like to pretend it’s definitely something different and not in the bad icky evil way but in the good, righteous way even though they present and function as the exact same thing because they are the same thing and because of the fact they think that their “genre” of hating weird/different things is a completely different concept, they think “well surely since it’s different and I’m special because I’m not like all those icky nasty people I bitch about, my way of doing it must be The Correct Way, and the feelings I’m hurting just aren’t valid! I act this way to every member of X group that isn’t 100% perfect any time they’re around me, but surely it must be because I keep running into the evil kind of this person and not just seeing the general pattern bc it’s widely true about them!” the best example of this is how basically every online “leftist” will associate a southern or hillbilly accent with “conservative” and “small minded” when they make fun of people they find stupid/ignorant)

and I know it’s not just from me being shitty cuz I have had people know me for months who were normal and as forgiving of my shortcomings as they would be to anyone else but the second I mention any of the things I did were caused/affected by any of my disabilities, they immediately change their attitude towards me and get instantaneously spiteful and indignant. Only reason I haven’t noticed the switch in terms of being tfem is bc even/especially in queer/“woke” spaces (and I know many transmascs who have went on T have had the same experience all around), due to a general use of this “kill all men! That’s a man thing! and men suck! #feminism #girlboss” attitude as an easy fallback to justify needing someone to be mean to (they will almost always automatically settle on the one with the least “oppression brownie points” in “left” groups and vice versa in non left groups) anyone that’s assigned male at birth is held to a different standard where if an AFAB member of the group does something mean-spirited or bullyish everyone goes “aaahaha slayyy!!! 🤪🤪” but if an AMAB does the same, it’s immediately “that person is so problematic and dangerous” because even though they truly believe that they don’t, they do still see you as “different” than any female or AFAB or “smol bean!!” minority bc they don’t entirely see you as a woman.

And when you are inevitably ousted (which I’m beginning to discover essentially anyone of this nature has had a similar experience with a similar kind of group of people) over a bad decision that anyone else would be forgiven for, they immediately default to “I always knew there was something wrong with them!” and “they were always toxic and bad!!” which is really them unconsciously attributing the feeling of repulsion they feel towards a transfem (which irl is just the same exact feeling that a “normal” person feels when they see someone with disfigurements that aren’t trendy or aesthetically pleasing or that your average white consumer feels when they have to talk to an irl POC who’s bigger than them or who makes them feel less threatened than their white peers) and refusing to even consider that it might be from something deeper in their psyche baked into them that they don’t want to think about because it would make them “problematic” (e.g.: I used to be this way towards Arabs as a child because of unconscious fears/pattern associations indoctrinated into me by American media and education when I was a young child, much like many other American children systemically conditioned by similar things, and like boys very quickly become when they start learning misogyny from their school environment).
