according to an interview from last month, the BBC are curently revising the book. The plan is to turn it into a tv show.

if you thought inkheart was about dads you haven't seen anything yet. by inkdeath we're into turbo-dad territory

inkheart au where instead of marrying jehan sr, roxane meets and falls in love with a charming blonde scribe who teaches her daughter to read. they are absolutely heartbroken when mortola takes her away and resa later befriends dustfinger specifically because roxane had told her about him. roxane goes with dustfinger to help meggie find her parents in the inkworld and meggie thinks it’s going to be awkward bc she knows dustfinger had a Thing with her mom…she was not expecting roxane to also be Insane about resa and this just makes things weirder for her
